一、五月六日、御書をもって例の通り、国産の初鯖を献上された。
一、同日、御家老・酒井玄蕃（知喬）の月切駕籠御免の儀について、御発駕前に願い出ていたため、御用番・本多中務大輔（忠良）殿へ、左の通り御書および御書付を添えて、御留守居・津田九右衛門（盛恕）が持参し差し出した。

Item: On the sixth day of the fifth month, as is customary, the season's first mackerel (hatsusaba), a local product, was presented by written communication.
Item: On the same day, regarding the matter of permission for senior councillor (karō) Sakai Genba (Tomotaka) to use a monthly-term palanquin (tsukigiri kago)—a request that had been submitted prior to [the lord's] departure—the resident representative (rusui) Tsuda Kuemon (Morihiro) personally delivered to the Duty Councillor Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu (Tadayoshi) a formal letter together with the attached written petition as follows:

I humbly write to you. I am most gratified to hear that you continue to serve in good health. Now then, I wish to humbly request permission for my retainer Sakai Genba to use a palanquin for the duration of the month [in place of horseback]. As the details are conveyed in the accompanying separate document, I respectfully ask that you issue appropriate instructions in this matter. Written with deepest respect.
