不物好（フモノズキ）わる塊（カタマ）りにかたまつて。椽（エン）の下（シタ）の力持
むた骨たらけの其中にゑれきてるせゑり
ていとゝいへる人の体（カラダ）より火を出し。病を治
する器（ウツハモノ）を作り出せり。抑（ソモ〳〵）此器（コノウツハモノ）は西洋（セイヤウ）の人 電（ノナヅマ）【ママ、イナヅマの彫間違いか】
の理（リ）を以て考（カンガイ）。一 旦（タン）工夫（クフウ）は付けれども。其身
の生涯（セウガイ）には事 成（ナ）らず。三代を経（ヘ）て成就（ゼウシユ）し
けるといへり。阿蘭陀人（イランタジン）といへども知（シ）る者は至て
少く。固（モトヨリ）朝鮮（テンセン）唐（カラ）天竺（テンヂク）の人は夢（ユメ）にもしらす況（イハン）や
日本 開闢（カイヒヤク）以来（イライ）創（ハジメ）て出来たる事なれば高貴（カウキ）
の旁（カタ〴〵）を初（ハジメ）として見ん事を願ふ者（モノ）夥（オビタヽシ）し。
或日（アルヒ）去（サル）屋敷の儒官（ジユクハン）。石倉（イシクラ）新五左衛門といへる
人来りて。観（ミ）る事 良（ヤヽ）久（ヒサシウ）して曰（イハク）。天地 人（ジン）の三 才（サイ）
に通達（ツウダツ）するを儒（ジユ）といふ。我天下の書（シヨ）に眼（マナコ）を
さらし。理（リ）を以て推（ヲ）す時は。森羅万象（シンラマンザウ）明（アキラ）
現代語訳
物好きでない悪い連中が集まって、縁の下の力持ちのような、骨だらけの無駄な者たちの中に、エレキテルという人の体から火を出し、病気を治療する器具を作り出した。そもそもこの器具は西洋の人が雷の原理を用いて考案したものである。一度は工夫を凝らしたものの、その人の生涯では完成せず、三代を経てようやく成就したという。オランダ人といえども知る者は極めて少なく、もとより朝鮮・中国・天竺（インド）の人々は夢にも知らず、まして日本では開国以来初めて出来上がったことなので、高貴な方々を初めとして見たいと願う者が非常に多い。
