予曰其木 氣（かざ）似り 鉤樟（くろもし）に故に白もじと云

蔵器説によると
烏薬 うやく うこんばな 白もじとも

さつさふらす 蘭名（オランダ名）
予（私）が言うには、その木の香気が黒文字（くろもじ）に似ているので、白もじと言う
国俗で通用している

Also called shiromode
Sassafras Dutch name
I say that this tree's fragrance resembles kuromoji (Lindera umbellata), therefore it is called shiromoji
