かやうに候は市川の雷蔵にて候／我（われ）久々（ひさ〳〵）の
病気（べうき）にて医療（いりやう）手を尽（つく）すといへども更（さら）に快気（くわいき）
もなかりし処に此程浅草の観世音（かわんぜおん）を念（ねん）じ
奉（たてまつり）ける験（しるし）にやいつに勝（すぐ）れて快（こころよく）覚（ おほへ）候程に御礼
の為（ため）浅草に参詣（さんけい）せばやと存候／浮世（うきよ）の夢（ゆめ）
も短夜（みじかよ）のまだ晴（はれ）やらぬ雲井の月心の駒（こま）
を引立て法（のり）の為には蔵／前（まへ）の焔魔堂（えんまどう）にぞ
着（つき）にけり〱浅草迄は程遠し爰（こゝ）にていざ
や休（やすま）んとて堂のかたへに蹲踞（うづくまり）暫（しば）し念珠（ねんじゆ）し

このような次第でございますのは、市川の雷蔵でございます。私は長い間病気で、医療の手を尽くしたけれども、まったく快復することがありませんでした。ところがこのたび浅草の観世音を念じ申し上げたところ、その御利益でしょうか、いつになく気分よく感じられるようになりましたので、御礼のため浅草に参詣しようと思います。
浮世の夢も短い夜の、まだ晴れやらぬ雲間の月のように、心の駒を引き立てて、仏法のために蔵前の閻魔堂に到着いたしました。浅草までは程遠いので、ここでしばらく休もうと思い、お堂の傍らにうずくまって、しばし念珠を手にして

It is thus that I, Raizo of Ichikawa, speak. I had been suffering from a prolonged illness, and despite exhausting all medical treatments, I experienced no recovery whatsoever. However, recently I have been praying to the Kannon of Asakusa, and perhaps through that divine blessing, I began to feel remarkably better than usual. Therefore, I wish to make a pilgrimage to Asakusa in gratitude.
Like the fleeting dreams of this floating world in a short night, with the moon still obscured by lingering clouds, I spurred on the horse of my heart and arrived at the Enma Hall in front of Kuramae for the sake of the Buddhist Law. Since Asakusa is still quite far, I thought to rest here for a while, so I crouched down beside the hall and began to work my prayer beads for a moment.
