They proceed via the manjū-shaped area and ascend to the doi (knee-walking). They advance to the large platform and stand close to the negi's sacred door (standing diagonally at the center facing the offerings). After completion, while holding the scepter and remaining seated, they perform one bow (briefly pausing; according to oral tradition, turning left). They descend from the doi, and after one bow, turn left (knee-walking). They put on shoes (bowing as usual). After completion, they pass between the eastern standing sand and manjū-shaped area and exit diagonally toward the screen middle gate. Under the eaves of the Wakamiya worship hall (facing south), while standing, they face the jōjiri group for the ceremony of return prayers. After the matter is concluded, one bow, and the jōjiri respond with a bow. Next, the kaika officials and jōjiri withdraw.
The kaika officials gird their swords at the northern area under the Kara Gate eaves, adjust their hems, exit through the Kara Gate and Shingū gates, pass through the connecting hall and the negi's slatted bridge, and exit to the Nitorii

However, the curtained pavilion is erected the day before on the western side of the lawn zelkova trees south of the Goshoya, and on the day of the event, before the appointed time, shrine attendants lay out one tatami mat with Korean edging. Instructions should come from the kaika supervisors. Moreover, regarding the large drums and gongs, during the time of taking seats at the office building, attendants are made to bring them from the shrine grounds and display them in the pavilion. Western gong, eastern large drum, each facing north. To prevent movement, attendants prepare thin ropes in advance and tie the legs of the drums and gongs to the rings of the portable seats. Also, for ablution purposes, one red cloth basin is requested from the deputy officials, brought and placed in a convenient location. After completion, it is transported back to the shrine grounds and stored in a box during the next day's shrine visit).
