西郷大次郎方より受け取り、同九月に杉本源五左衛門方へ引き渡した事
一、同七卯年八月、追鳥狩に参加した事
一、同年十二月、組の足軽たちが当追鳥狩において足軽並の内習の際に精を出し、指図にも及んだ段をお褒めくださった事
一、同八辰年三月、組の足軽たちの取り扱いをよく差配し、武備を励まし精を出したことにつき、お褒美として銀子三枚を下し置かれた事
一、同年十月、勤番として江戸表へ上り、翌巳五月にお下向のお供として下った事
一、同年十二月、去年と当年の両年にわたり組の者たちが鉄砲修練において労費を厭わず、あれこれと精を出したことにつき、お褒美として綿一把を下し置かれた事
英語訳
was received from Saigō Daijirō and transferred to Sugimoto Gen'gozaemon in the 9th month of the same year.
1. In the 8th month of Kansei 7th Rabbit year, he participated in the tori-gari (bird hunting exercise).
2. In the 12th month of the same year, the ashigaru (foot soldiers) of his unit performed diligently during the internal training at the tori-gari, reaching the level of regular ashigaru and providing guidance, for which they received praise.
3. In the 3rd month of Kansei 8th Dragon year, for his excellent management of the ashigaru in his unit, encouraging military preparedness and diligent service, he was granted three pieces of silver as a reward.
4. In the 10th month of the same year, he went up to Edo for guard duty service, and returned the following Snake year 5th month as part of the lord's entourage.
5. In the 12th month of the same year, for the diligent efforts of his unit members in firearms training over the past two years, sparing no labor or expense in various aspects, he was granted one bundle of cotton as a reward.
