と淳直（じゆんちよく）も俱々（とも〴〵）言（ことば）を添（そ）へ纔（わづか）に命（いのち）を申（まう）し乞（こ）ひ諸官人（しよくわんにん）に下知（げち）し
て引去（ひきさら）しむ衣服美麗（いふくびれい）は立（たつ）にもたゝれず顔（かほ）を赤（あか）めて黙（もく）
坐（ざ）したるを国王（こくわう）は屹（きつ）と見やり我（わ）れ足下（そくか）を以（もつ）て智謀（ちぼう）无（ぶ）
双（そう）の人（ひと）と思（おも）ひ其言（そのことば）に迷（まよ）はされ悪事（あくじ）に陥（おちい）りかゝる大乱（たいらん）を
起（おこ）せしは皆（みな）是（これ）我（わ）が愚（おろか）より仕出（しいだ）したる事なれば今にいた
りて足下（そくか）を責（せめ）たりとも其甲斐（そのかひ）なし已後（いご）吾国（わがくに）へは出入

には其功（そのこう）なかるべき間（あいだ）心（こゝろ）を長（なが）くして緩々（ゆる〳〵）と防戦（ぼうせん）し国家（こくか）の
恢復（くわいふく）を評（はか）るべし先（まづ）早（はや）く軍（いくさ）の手配（てくば）りをせんと国王（こくわう）の前（まへ）を
下（さが）り諸薬將（しよやくしやう）を呼集（よびあつ）め暫（しばら）く軍議（ぐんぎ）に時（とき）を移（うつ）しけるが所詮（しよせん）

深く先非を悔い嘆き、再度討賊の事を頼んだので、淳直は欣然として印を受け取り「大王の命を承服いたします。されども、つらつら国中の様子を察するに、この度攻めて来る者は瘰癧ばかりではないでしょう。梅毒王自ら出陣してきたと思われます。そうであれば大事な戦いであって、これまで賊将共と戦ったのとは同じではありません。一朝一夕にはその功はないでしょうから、心を長くしてゆっくりと防戦し、国家の回復を図るべきです。まず早く軍の手配をしましょう」と国王の前を下がり、諸薬将を呼び集めてしばらく軍議に時を移したが、所詮この度は国家十分衰弱の時であるから激しい合戦は難しい。先ず国勢を調理すべしと一決し、補中益気湯に茯苓沢瀉芍薬湯を差し添え、一万余騎で国中へ出て陣を取り、梅毒賊には目を

However, carefully observing the situation throughout the country, those attacking this time are not merely scrofula. It appears the Syphilis King himself has marched forth. If so, this will be a great battle, different from fighting the bandit generals before. Success will not come in a single day or night, so we must be patient and gradually conduct defensive battles to plan the nation's recovery. First, let us quickly arrange the military forces." He withdrew from the king's presence, summoned all the medicine generals, and spent time in military council. Ultimately deciding that since this was a time when the nation was thoroughly weakened, fierce battles would be difficult, they resolved first to treat the national condition.
