現代語訳
今の時代は無知な医師が勝手気ままにこれを用いるために、一般庶民に至るまでこれを知って、全くの毒薬だと思っている。嘆かわしいことこの上ないではないか。
もしこの軽粉・水銀等の加減の方法を知ってこれを用いるなら、どれほどの慢性疾患や毒が結した病気であっても、たちまちに治すことができるだろう。そのため私はこれらの物質を梅毒治療に必要不可欠な薬剤とする。そもそも梅毒に軽粉・水銀、嗅薬等を用いずして、山帰来が効かないものには何をもって治療を施すべきだろうか。偶然その害があるのは無知な医師の罪であり、薬の害ではない。また悪徳医師の妄言をもって軽粉・水銀を誹謗し、患者を惑わすようなことは、霊薬の流通を妨げ、治療の要点を失うことで、その罪は甚だ大きい。病者はよくよくこれを考えて、軽粉等がたまたま害をなすのは全く無知な医師の過ちであることを知り、悪徳医師の妄言に騙されないようにすべきである。
これらの趣旨を身近に世の人に告知するために、病と薬との相性を戦の勝負に例えて、薬方の加減を述べ明かすこの書を熟読する時は、自然と梅毒治療の道筋を暗記して知り、無知な医師の誤治を免れ、悪徳医師の悪計に陥ることがないだろう。これが私の世を救う小さな志である、とこのように言う。

英語訳
In these times, ignorant physicians use these [medicines] as they please, so that even common people know of them and think they are nothing but poisons. Is this not extremely lamentable?
If one knows the proper methods of adjusting mercury, quicksilver, etc. and uses them accordingly, no matter how severe the chronic illness or accumulated toxins, they can be cured immediately. Therefore, I consider these substances essential medicines for treating syphilis. In the first place, without using mercury, quicksilver, inhalation medicines, etc. for syphilis, what could be used to treat cases where sarsaparilla is ineffective? When harm occasionally occurs, it is the fault of ignorant doctors, not the fault of the medicines. Moreover, when quack doctors use false words to slander mercury and quicksilver and deceive patients, they obstruct the circulation of miraculous medicines and lose the key points of treatment - their sin is extremely great. Patients should carefully consider this and understand that when mercury, etc. occasionally causes harm, it is entirely the fault of ignorant physicians, and they should not be deceived by the false words of quack doctors.
To announce these principles closely to the people of the world, I compare the compatibility of diseases and medicines to the victory and defeat in war, and explain the proper adjustment of prescriptions. When this book is thoroughly read, one will naturally memorize and understand the proper path of syphilis treatment, avoid the misdiagnoses of ignorant doctors, and not fall into the evil schemes of quack doctors. This is my humble aspiration to save the world.
