を悩（なやま）され漸々（ぜん〳〵）に身体（しんたい）羸痩（るいさう）し飲食（いんしよく）すること能（あた）はず是（これ）より
労熱（らうねつ）の法（はう）を行（おこな）ひ肺（はい）の臓（ざう）の都（みやこ）をせめて咳（せき）を出（いだ）さば黴労（ばいらう）必死（ひつし）
の症（せう）となり何（いづ）れも亡（ほろ）び失（う）せん事（こと）遠（とを）きにあらずかく一時（いちじ）にあまた
の人体国（にんたいこく）を亡（ほろぼ）さんはいと快（こゝろよ）き事（こと）にあらずや自讃（じさん）【「みづからほめる」左ルビ】にはあらねども
皆（みな）我（わ）が方寸（ほうすん）の術（じゆつ）に出（いで）たり汝等（なんぢら）も心（こゝろ）をせめて此上（このうへ）忠戦（ちうせん）おこたる
事なかれと言（ことば）の下（した）より上攻（じやうこう）結毒（けつどく）列（れつ）を出（い）で座（ざ）をすゝめ仰（をゝ）せ
の趣（おもむき）畏（かしこ）まれり去（さり）ながら若（もし）人体国（にんたいこく）の主人公（しゆじんこう）是迄（これまで）緩剤（くはんざい）の
弱将（じやくしやう）を用（もち）ひて効（こう）なきを憤（いきどを）り必死（ひつし）ときはめて劇剤（けきざい）の新手（あらて）
を入（い）れかへ破釜焚舟（はふほんしう）の勇（ゆう）をなさば味方（みかた）甚（はなは）た難儀（なんぎ）とならん
大王（だいわう）の良策（りやうさく）あらばあらかじめ承（うけたま）はらん各（おの〳〵）いかにと見（み）かへれば残（のこ）
りの眷属（けんぞく）口（くち）をそろへ上攻（じやうこう）結毒（けつどく）の言（ことば）のごとく後日（ごにち）の合戦（かつせん）こゝろ
もとなし猶此上の御下知（をんげぢ）を斉（ひとし）く願（ねが）ふ所なりと襟（ゑり）かき合
せ膝（ひざ）をすゝめ一度（いちど）に耳（みゝ）を傾（かたむ）けたり黴毒王（ばいどくわう）は莞爾（につこ）【尓】とわらひ
実（げ）に尤（もつとも）の用心なり然れども彼（かの）人体国（にんたいこく）は卑賎（ひせん）の国（くに）と同じ
からず世（よ）にいふ能衆（よいしゆ）療治（りやうぢ）にてたゞいつまでも五宝丹（ごはうたん）紫金丹（しきんたん）
山帰来剤（さんきらいざい）六物解毒湯（りくもつげどくとう）捜風解毒湯（さうふうげどくとう）忍冬（にんどう）蕺薬（じうやく）十全（じうぜん）
大補湯（たいふとう）補中益気湯（ほちうゑききとう）などの弱将（じやくしやう）を頼（たの）み軽粉（けいふん）嗅薬（かぎぐすり）生々（せい〳〵）
乳（にう）そつぴるどろしすかるめら等（など）は名を聞（きい）ても耳（みゝ）をふさぎ
て蛇蝎（じやかつ）のごとく畏（おそ）るゝなりかゝれば命（いのち）はおつるとも劇剤（げきざい）を
用（もち）ひて勝負（しやうぶ）を一時（いちじ）に決（けつ）する戦（たゝか）ひはよもなさじ抑（そも〳〵）又（また）我（わが）輩（ともがら）も劇
剤（ざい）を恐（おそ）れては人体国（にんたいこく）に入込（いりこん）で合戦（かつせん）はなりがたしたとひ劇剤に
出逢（いであふ）たり共（とも）只（たゞ）能（よく）機（き）に応（をう）じ変（へん）に従（したが）ひ或（あるひ）は避（さけ）或（あるひ）は当（あた）り彼（かれ）が鋭気（ゑいき）

現代語訳
に悩まされて次第に身体が衰弱し、飲食することができない。これより労熱の治療法を行い、肺臓の中枢を攻めて咳を出させれば梅毒労咳の必死の症状となり、どれも滅び失せることは遠くない。このように一度に多くの人体国を滅ぼすのは、とても快いことではないか。自慢ではないが、皆我が知恵の術から出たものである。汝らも心を尽くして、この上忠実に戦い怠ることなかれ」と言葉の下から、上攻結毒が列を出て座を進め、仰せの趣きを畏まった。
しかしながら、もし人体国の主人公がこれまで緩やかな薬の弱い将を用いて効果がないことに憤り、必死と決めて劇薬の新手に入れ替え、破釜沈船の勇気をなせば、味方は甚だ難儀となろう。大王の良策があれば予め承りたい。各々いかがか」と振り返ると、残りの眷属は口を揃えて「上攻結毒の言葉のごとく、後日の合戦は心もとない。なお、この上の御指示を等しく願うところである」と襟をかき合わせ、膝を進めて一度に耳を傾けた。
梅毒王はにっこりと笑い、「まことにもっともな用心である。しかれども、かの人体国は卑賤の国と同じではない。世にいう良い衆生の療治にて、ただいつまでも五宝丹、紫金丹、山帰来剤、六物解毒湯、捜風解毒湯、忍冬、蕺薬、十全大補湯、補中益気湯などの弱い将を頼み、軽粉、嗅薬、生々乳、そつぴる、どろし、すかる、めら等は名を聞いても耳を塞いで蛇蝎のごとく畏れるのである。これゆえ命は落ちるとも、劇薬を用いて勝負を一時に決する戦いはよもやなすまい。
そもそもまた我が輩も劇薬を恐れては人体国に入り込んで合戦はなしがたい。たとえ劇薬に出会ったとしても、ただよく機に応じ変に従い、あるいは避け、あるいは当たり、彼の鋭気を

"However, if the master of the human body kingdom, having been angered by the ineffectiveness of using weak generals of mild medicines up to now, determines to fight to the death and replaces them with fresh troops of strong medicines, employing the courage of burning boats and breaking cauldrons, our allies will face great hardship. If the Great King has good strategies, we would like to hear them in advance. What say you all?" Looking back, the remaining retainers spoke in unison: "As Upper Attack Blood Poison has said, future battles are uncertain. We equally wish to receive further instructions from above." They pulled their collars together, advanced on their knees, and all inclined their ears at once.
The Syphilis King smiled gently and said, "This is indeed most reasonable caution. However, that human body kingdom is not the same as a base country. In what the world calls good treatment by skilled practitioners, they rely forever only on weak generals such as Gohōtan, Shikintan, Sankirai preparations, Rokumotsu Detox Decoction, Sōfū Detox Decoction, Nindō, Jūyaku, Jūzen Great Tonic Decoction, Hochū Ekki Decoction, and such. As for light powder, inhalant medicines, quicksilver, turpith, jalap, scammony, aloe, and such—they cover their ears even at hearing the names and fear them like serpents and scorpions. Therefore, even if life is lost, they would never engage in battle using strong medicines to decide victory or defeat all at once.
Moreover, if we too fear strong medicines, it would be difficult to enter the human body kingdom and wage war. Even if we encounter strong medicines, we need only respond well to opportunities and follow changes—sometimes avoiding, sometimes confronting, [dealing with] their vigor
