現代語訳
賊を退治することを司るのでその任務は最も重い国である。国の主人公が賢明であれば薬軍を手足のように使い、いかなる悪賊をも討ち滅ぼし、病国の大平を実現する。これゆえに病国からもこれを敬い、贈り物を厚くするので、自然と貧賤の憂いはないはずであるのに、近頃は医国主の多くは不正であって、雑芸や便佞をもって富貴国に媚びへつらい、富貴国もまたこれを愛し、医薬の軍法に精通していない者にも病賊追討の任を与えて疑わない。これも小さな小競り合いには良いが、一旦病賊の大軍に遭う時は、堕弱の補剤は少しの功も奏せず、たちまち滅亡する国はその数を知らない。
およそ不実の医国主は病国の機嫌を伺い、効果があることを知りながら瞑眩を恐れて勇猛の劇剤を用いず、堕弱の緩剤をもって戦わせる。もし程よく戦って勝てば軍功に誇るべし。軍が不利で病国が滅亡しても自国の害にはならないことである。その時は天命をもって弁解すべし。いずれにしても恩賞に外れることはあるまい。
このように両端を持し、真実我が身に引き受けて忠戦する心がない。これゆえに病賊は時を得て侵攻・掠奪を思いのままにするのである。
さて五人の神将は倶生神に誘われ、直ちに福徳自在衛門の人体国に至り、王城に登って拝謁を請うたところ、国の主人公は大いに喜び、自ら出てこれを迎え、客座に座らせた。座が定まってから淳直に向かい、「我が国をはじめ属国まで妖魔のために欺かれ、黴軍が国中に攻め入り困苦すること一日に及ばず、数多の医国より軍師を招き募り、合戦数度に及んだが、賊徒が強くて味方が利を失い、国の危うきこと累卵のごとし。今度倶生神の勧めに従い先生を招待したところ、早速の来訪
