見へけるにぞ二人の賊將（ぞくしやう）は気（き）をいらちいひがいなき者（もの）どもかな
持楯（もちだて）を持（もつ）てかづきつれて乗入（のりいれ）よと真先（まつさき）に進（すゝ）みきびしく下（げ）
知（ぢ）すれば諸軍（しよぐん）是（これ）に気（き）を烈（はげま）し射（い）れども打（うて）ども少（すこ）しも屈（くつ）せず
已（すで）に陣門（ぢんもん）を打破（うちやぶ）らんとする所（ところ）に鼻梁山（びりやうざん）の方（かた）に当（あた）りて一道（いちどう）の

見えたので、二人の賊将は苛立って「情けない者どもだな。盾を持って身を守りながら乗り入れよ」と真っ先に進んで厳しく指揮すると、諸軍はこれに気を奮い立たせ、射かけられ打たれても少しも屈せず、すでに陣門を打ち破ろうとするところに、鼻梁山の方角に当たって一筋の良い香りの煙が雲のように立ち上がり、一隊の軍馬が現れ出て、「黴賊追討使黴効散」と書いた大旗を押し立て、軍勢は手に手に小賊の首を提げ「悪賊どもよ、まだ知らないのか。鼻梁山の本陣はすでに陥落し、賊卒はことごとく首を斬られた。お前たちも道連れとなれ」と口々に呼ばわると、黴軍の将卒は大いに驚き、振り返って見ると無数の薬兵が後ろを断ち切り、ゆらゆらと立つ香煙が黴軍の陣上に襲いかかる。賊兵は煙気に吹かれて目がくらみ、その上両賊の分身の術が破れて、十四人の人馬が元の二騎に

戻ったので、諸軍兵は力を落とし勢いが挫けて乱れ立つ。薬軍はこれを見るや陣門を開き、切っ先を揃えて一心不乱に切り入ると、両賊将は分身の術が破れ、前後の敵に対処し難く、気も魂も身に付かず、馬に鞭打って逃げ行くところに、一人の大将が兜で身を固め、手に百度鍛えた宝刀を振りかざし「悪賊よ、どこへ走るのか。薬軍四天王の一員黴効散がここにあって、お前たちを待つこと久しい」と雷のように呼ばわり、道を奪って立ち塞がる。両賊はすでに戦い疲れた上に煙気に蒸されて心神がくらみ、再び新手に向かうべき勢いはないけれども、逃れられぬところと心を定め、血刀を振って左右から寄せ合わせ、二太刀三太刀戦ったが、どうして黴効散に敵うであろうか。たちまち宝刀を受け損じ、四段に斬られて死んでしまった。残賊は

Just as they were about to break through the camp gate, toward Biryōzan mountain a single trail of fragrant smoke rose up like clouds, and a company of cavalry appeared, raising a great banner inscribed "Bandit Pursuit Commissioner Baikōsan." The troops each carried the heads of minor bandits and called out in unison: "Evil bandits! Do you still not know? The main camp at Biryōzan has already fallen, and the bandit soldiers have all lost their heads. You too shall accompany them!" When the syphilis army's officers and soldiers heard this, they were greatly shocked and looked back to see countless medicine soldiers cutting off their rear. The gently swaying fragrant smoke attacked over the syphilis army's camp. The bandit soldiers were blown by the smoke and their eyes grew dim. Moreover, the division technique of the two bandits was broken, and the fourteen men and horses returned to the original two riders.

So all the army soldiers lost strength and their momentum was broken as they fell into disorder. When the medicine army saw this, they opened the camp gate, aligned their sword points, and cut in with single-minded determination. The two bandit generals found their division technique broken, making it difficult to face enemies before and behind. With neither spirit nor soul remaining in their bodies, they whipped their horses and tried to flee, when one great general, his body armored in a helmet, brandishing a precious sword forged a hundred times, thundered: "Evil bandits! Where do you run? Baikōsan, one of the medicine army's Four Heavenly Kings, is here and has long awaited you!" He seized the road and stood blocking their way. The two bandits were already weary from battle and, steamed by the smoke with their minds grown dim, had no strength to face fresh troops again. But determining in their hearts that there was no escape, they wielded their blood-stained swords and closed in from left and right, fighting two or three exchanges. But how could they match Baikōsan? In an instant they failed to parry his precious sword and were cut into four pieces and perished. The remaining bandits...
