弘化四年（未年）四月四日、御用番・戸田山城守様へ提出。
出雲守の領分である信州国高井郡・水内郡内の村々において、去る月（三月）二十四日の亥の刻（午後十時）頃より大地震があり、人家が震え潰れ、人馬の死亡なども生じた。さらに篠井川筋の両岸が崩れ落ち、水中に押し埋められて水が流れにくくなり、田方に水が溢れ、次々と畑の方へも押し上がってくるであろうと予測され、見当もつかない状況である。同二十六日に至っても、時折地震が続いているとのことを、現地の役人より申し越してきた。詳細については追って申し上げるが、出雲守は大坂在番中であるため、まずこの段をご報告申し上げる次第である。

On the 4th day of the 4th month of Kōka 4 (the Year of the Sheep, 1847), submitted to His Excellency Toda Yamashiro-no-Kami, the duty official (goyōban).
In the villages within Shinano Province's Takai District and Mizuuchi District, which fall under the domain of Izumo-no-Kami, a great earthquake struck around the Hour of the Boar (approximately 10 p.m.) on the 24th day of last month (the 3rd month). Many residences collapsed, and there were deaths and injuries among both people and horses. Furthermore, both banks along the Shinoi River collapsed and were buried underwater, causing water to back up; the rice paddies flooded and it is feared the water will progressively inundate the fields as well—the situation is difficult to predict. Reports from local officials indicate that tremors continued intermittently through the 26th of the same month. Full details will be reported in due course; however, as Izumo-no-Kami is currently on duty in Osaka, this preliminary report is hereby respectfully submitted.
