"Since this concerns service to Lord Hōshōin, please employ him under His Lordship," he petitioned. This was deemed reasonable, and since it was heard that he was privately receiving two hundred koku, he was ordered to serve in that capacity and was employed as a personal attendant (otomban).
Kanbun 8 (Year of the Monkey, 1668), 2nd month: Since the adoptive father Iemon's biological son Tōtarō was born and came of age, this person was designated as heir, and I was to be returned to my original family name and serve with the stipend granted when I was a page.

When I petitioned for this arrangement, my request was heard and granted. However, it was not that my original family line had died out, nor that I had been adopted into another family. Due to the connection of having been raised by Iemon from childhood, I was granted a portion (bunchichi) of the previous two hundred koku fief. Therefore, keeping both my given name and surname as they were, I would become Iemon's subordinate and serve the lord. The remaining fief would not be insufficient for Tōtarō either. Having made this pronouncement, any further petitions on this matter would be considered unreasonable, and no changes would be made to this arrangement.
