そのとき、そこに立っていた下役の一人がイエスの頬を打って言った。「お前はそのように大祭司に答えるのか」。イエスはその人に答えて言われた、「もしわたしが悪いことを言ったなら、その悪を証明せよ。もし正しいことを言ったなら、なぜわたしを打つのか」。アンナスはイエスを縛ったまま、大祭司カヤファのもとへ送った。
