神の怒りがその上にとどまっている。
かしら人（指導者）やものしり（学者）がファリサイ派の人々が、イエスがヨハネよりも多くの弟子を作り、洗礼を授けているのを聞いた。
ただしイエス自身は洗礼を授けなかった。弟子たちが行った。イエスはユダヤを去って、再びガリラヤ国へ行かれた。イエス
はサマリア国を通って行かれた。サマリア国のところにシカルという井戸があり、昔ヤコブがヨセフ息子に与えた田地に
ついて来た。そこにヤコブの井戸があった。イエスは長い旅をしてから疲れて、井戸に腰かけられた。一人の女がサマリアの
ところから水を汲みに来た時、イエスは言われた、「私に飲む水を与えよ」。ただし弟子たちは村へ食べ物を買いに行っていた。
サマリアの女はイエスに言った。「私はサマリアの女、ユダヤ人はサマリア人とは付き合いません。どうしてあなたは

When the chief people (leaders) and learned men heard that the Pharisees knew that Jesus was making more disciples than John and baptizing them,
however Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples did. Jesus left Judea and went again to the country of Galilee. Jesus
went through the country of Samaria. In the country of Samaria there was a well called Sychar, near the field that
Jacob had given to his son Joseph long ago. There was Jacob's well. Jesus, being wearied from his long journey, sat down by the well. A woman from Samaria
came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, "Give me water to drink." But his disciples had gone to the village to buy food.
