ひっくり返して船に入れます。尾は見えない巻いたもので、人に利益をもたらすものです。島中にその他の獣はおらず、牛馬羊が多くいます。羊は享保年間に放されたもので、非常に多くいます。白いもの、少し毛がまだらのもの、何でもいます。作物を荒らすので百姓たちが困っています。牛馬のことですが、牛は牛同士で、馬は馬同士で群れをなしています。子供などが山へ行くと、連れ立って行き、落とします。笹などを振り落とすと、皆逃げ帰ります。だいたい牛馬を使う時には、その牛馬を捕まえてきて、用事に使い、また山へ返します。細かく人の用事を務める牛馬は、手に入ります。悪い物は使いものになりません。人の家で飼っている牛馬も、同じものを捕まえて、屋内に繋ぐのです。
