与兵衛は庚申の夜も日暮れより寝て、やっと昼四分（午後二時頃）に起きたところへ出てくれば、女房が鏡を前にして髪を結っている。鏡に映った皆々が肝を潰す。何事にて押し事（無理な事）はしないものなり。
