ということを果たさずして亡くなってしまった。その息子である定得が父の志を継ぎ、これまで散逸していたものを拾い集め、欠けていたところを補って、このような草子（書物）としてまとめ上げた。この定得は世におもねらない性格で、すべてのことを有るものは有るとし、無いものは無いとして、古書を証拠とし、かの将門が凶威をふるった時の

but he passed away without accomplishing this task. His son Sadatoku inherited his father's aspiration and gathered together materials that had been scattered and lost, supplemented what was missing, and compiled this kind of book (kusazōshi).
