所のかみより伝へ来にし重宝の
あるかたちをさへ詳にうつし出
たるのみかは江考より此処まての
道すから神社仏寺の旧【舊】説をも
索りて露も浮たる事なく書
いてたるなりされは吾山はさるも

あるへき今此ふみのなれる悦に堪

その土地の神より伝えられてきた重宝の実際の姿まで詳細に写し出しているだけでなく、江戸からここまでの道中にある神社仏寺の古い言い伝えも探り調べて、少しも根拠のない浮ついたことなく書き記しているのである。そうであるから我が（成田）山はもちろんのことであるが、その各所の縁起についてさえもそのようであろう。今この書物が完成した喜びに堪えない
英語訳
Not only does it depict in detail the actual forms of the sacred treasures that have been handed down from the local deities, but it also investigates the ancient traditions of shrines and temples along the entire route from Edo to here, recording everything without any unfounded or superficial matters. Therefore, not only regarding our (Narita) mountain, but even concerning the origins and histories of each of those various places, it should be likewise reliable. Now I cannot contain my joy at the completion of this book
