Nagon Tsunetō was dispatched as an imperial messenger, and prayers were offered to the Great Shrine of Ise regarding this matter. There were also prayers at shrines throughout the provinces, and there were many divine oracles as signs of their efficacy. Among these, the oracle of the wind god of Ise was particularly remarkable.
