現代語訳
朴（ほく）を植えさせられた。「ハウの木は子孫長久の基、瑞祥の霊樹である」と仰せられたとのことである。玉垣は慶長中に土井家によって建立されて以来、代々佐倉領主の持ちとなっている。《割書：城中の大堀と字する地に清水というものがあり、万千代殿の供御の用に使われていたという》

[The lord] had magnolia trees planted. He declared that "the magnolia tree is the foundation for the prosperity of descendants through many generations, an auspicious sacred tree." The sacred fence has been maintained by successive lords of Sakura domain since it was erected by the Doi family during the Keichō era. {{Marginal note: In a place written as Ōhori within the castle grounds, there is a spring called Shimizu, which is said to have been used for Lord Manchiyo's meals}}
