現代語訳
あるいは散らばり、たちまち遠くなりたちまち近くなり、また一つの奇観である。
○佐倉風土記によると、この沼を眺めるのに平地からでは景色が良くない。蘆や荻が視界を遮るからである。しかし高い場所から見下ろすには適している。その見晴らしの良い場所としては平賀が最も良く、飯野がこれに次ぐ。煙が立ち込め水が澄んで一面の鏡のようになり、周囲の浦の山々が拱手するように、座るように、走るように、立ち止まるように見え、翠の屏風が画のように開けて見えるのが平賀からの眺めである。広々とした大きな入り江が一筋、銀を溶かしたような長い帯となり、水は白い練り絹のようで、水鳥が飛び鳴き、風は穏やかで日が傾き、その千里の彼方に富士の峰を望むのが飯野からの眺めである。
およそこの沼を取り囲む村は三十ある。神保、品、青菅、先崎、臼井、土浮、萩山、飯田、大佐倉、柏木、下方、北須賀、八代、大竹、酒直、安食は、いずれも印東郡に属し、北西から始まって西、南、東を巡って北で終わる。船尾、松崎、吉田、巌戸、師戸、鎌刈、瀬戸、松虫、萩原、中根、笠神は、皆印西郡に属し、北から始まって印東郡を回り巡る。
仏林山浄泉寺 印旛郡伊篠村にある。曹洞宗で、常陸国多賀郡杉室の大雄院に属する。開基は粟飯原胤光、開山は断江周恩和尚（明応四年乙卯七月八日寂）。本尊は十一面観音。

Sometimes scattered, suddenly far and suddenly near, this too is a remarkable sight.
○According to the Sakura Fudoki (Sakura Topographical Record), viewing this marsh from flat ground does not provide good scenery because reeds and miscanthus obstruct the view. However, it is suitable for viewing from elevated locations. Among such vantage points, Hiraga is the best, with Iino coming second. From Hiraga, one can see smoke rising and water clear as a mirror stretching for thousands of acres, with mountains around the bay appearing as if bowing, sitting, running, or standing still, and green screens opening like paintings. From Iino, one sees a vast bay stretching like a long belt of molten silver, water like white silk, waterfowl flying and crying, gentle winds and slanting sun, with Mount Fuji visible a thousand ri away.
In total, there are thirty villages surrounding this marsh. Jinbo, Shina, Aosuge, Sakizaki, Usui, Dobu, Hagiyama, Iida, Ōsakura, Kashiwagi, Shimokata, Kitasuga, Yashiro, Ōtake, Sakanao, and Ajiki all belong to Intō District, beginning from the northwest and circling through west, south, and east to end in the north. Funao, Matsuzaki, Yoshida, Iwato, Shito, Kamakari, Seto, Matsumushi, Hagiwara, Nakane, and Kasagami all belong to Inzai District, beginning from the north and circling around Intō District.
Butsurinzan Jōsenji Temple is located in Ishino Village, Inba District. It belongs to the Sōtō Zen sect and is affiliated with Taiyūin Temple in Suginomuro, Taga District, Hitachi Province. The founder was Aihara Tanemitsu, and the founding abbot was Priest Tankō Shūon (died on the 8th day of the 7th month of Meiō 4, year of the Wood Rabbit). The principal image is an Eleven-faced Kannon.
