[Continued from the previous page] ——(Tsunatake acting as) substitute for Yukiaki; Yasuhide as substitute for Yorikiyo; Kiyotsugu as substitute for Suekane; and so forth. The handover of boxes (箱渡し) took place at Kiyoo's residence, with former district officials Yasuyuki and Suenori proceeding there.
Eleventh Month (long month, 大):
2nd day (Kanoe-Tora, 庚寅): Clear. In connection with the divine ritual of the Niinamesai-type ceremony (相嘗会) on the first Day of the Rabbit (初卯日), the eggplants (茄子) to be offered, which had been prepared and carefully stored by the ten-member group (仲間) acting on behalf of the former district officials, had nevertheless dwindled to only five due to [a particular month intervening or unfavorable conditions]. Accordingly, five fresh eggplants and five salt-pickled eggplants—ten in total—were prepared for presentation (調進). This was reported to the meeting hall (会所) this morning, the items were gathered and collected at Keisen's residence, and after the Hour of the Horse (午刻, noon), they were delivered to the Bettō-tayū (別当大夫, chief administrator) in accordance with established precedent.
3rd day (Kanoto-U, 辛卯): Cloudy. Today was the divine ritual of the Niinamesai-type ceremony (相嘗会). The ten eggplants, presented as offerings since the time of the previous administration and prepared from within the palace precincts (宮中), were placed five at a time on offering trays (御盤) by the priests (祢宜) of the Main Shrine (本宮) and presented in two installments.
14th day (Mizunoe-Tora, 壬寅): Clear. The annual tribute rice (年貢米) of 1 koku 5 to 3 shō from Chakibara (茶木原) was converted into silver at a rate of 91 monme 8 bu (at the exchange rate of 60 monme per [koku]), and Yoshōbei (与惣兵衛) delivered it today to Keisen's residence. However, the going rate (相場) was determined in consultation with Yasuteru's household. Furthermore, this was treated as full and complete payment (皆済).
15th day (Mizunoto-U, 癸卯): Clear. After the midday meal, the former district officials Yasuteru [acting for Chōken] and Suenori, etc., gathered at Keisen's residence, and accounts (勘定) dating from the Tenth Month of the previous year were settled. Yasuyuki and Yasunori did not attend. The details of the accounts are as follows:
