This year, Tsuneyori (Kyōyō) serves as Shōjin-gashira (Head of Ritual Abstinence).
The above persons assembled at the residence of Funkyō after the midday meal, and dressed in formal kamishimo attire. At that time, the two outgoing daikan promptly arrived, bringing with them: one box of old ceremonial robes (sōzoku-bako), one box of regulations (okite-bumi-bako), and one box of keys (kagi-bako), which they duly handed over. Following this, a celebratory exchange took place.
Soup: tofu and bonito Sake: two shō of clear sake Three side dishes: herring roe, octopus, and boiled greens
The above proceedings concluded, and each person withdrew.
Article 1: After nightfall (i.e., after candles were lit), the five persons gathered again at the residence of Funkyō, wearing only hakama (informal wear). That evening, the kimo-iri (mediating elders) of both senior and junior members, along with Chikаaki and Kiyotachi, came and assembled. At this time, each person stated to whom they wished to transfer their authority (yodatsu). Regarding the lower-ranking positions (kaika no gi), they stated that they would accept any assignment as directed. After these matters were decided, the remaining sake and food from the midday meal were brought out and served. This was left entirely to the discretion of the five persons.
