They will later be needed for the uma-tate (horse standing area). The remainder is to be returned to the Shoshidai (Deputy Governor's office). Item: Accompanied by the chōya catering staff and one shimobe (attendant/servant), the keys to the chōya (administrative building) are to be received from the Shoshi Tayū (Deputy Administrator), and the chōya is to be opened. The shitomi shutters (wooden lattice panel doors) above the kiriita (partition/dividing board) are to be opened both top and bottom; below the kiriita, two ken-width openings are to be made for the excess curtaining. Two panels of silk curtain (kinumaku) and one panel of white curtain (shiromaku) are to be fetched from the shato (main shrine precincts). The two silk curtain panels are to be hung along the south veranda. The one white curtain panel is to be draped around the catering area (makanaisho), two mutu-gasa-dana (six-shelf stands) are to be placed there, and necessary items are to be laid upon them. Item: Items prepared the previous day are to be transported to the chōya. Item: Two hand-washing basins (chōzuoke) are to be fetched from the shrine precincts. Both are of the water-holding type (mizuiri-ya). Item: At the sato-tei (residence/temporary lodgings), binsui (hair-moistening water) and midari-o (loosened cords/hair cords) are to be distributed. (Each member of the norigiri group comes individually to collect them.) Item: After the morning meal, kanjo (prayer scrolls/written tallies of sutra recitations) are to be carried to the chōya and delivered to the respective locations. Item: Twenty sheets to the kannagi (head priest); twenty sheets each to both officials of Kibune (Kifune Shrine); twenty sheets each to the jūrō (ten elders); and to the kaika officials (ten sheets each to left and right). Note: For those serving as jūrō for the first time, the sheets are to be brought to the respective sato-tei (residences) of each norigiri, and their retainers are to bring them when reporting for duty.
