11th Day
Item: Today's chōhan (meal duty at the administrative office) was handled by Onken.
Item: At today's chōhan, the banners/notice boards (haribumi) assigned to each of the various gō (district/village associations) were taken home, one copy per district. Since I (the record-keeper) happened to have occasion to meet with Onken at a convenient juncture, I asked him to convey mine together with his. Within today or tomorrow, one copy of the aforementioned haribumi is to be written out in kana script. As paper stock, hōsho paper is to be used, and the labels (fuda) indicating the gō affiliations to be attached to the baskets (kago) are also to be written out and prepared. At the time of the kagori-gumi (enclosure/retreat group) ceremony, all of these items are to be brought to the chōya (administrative building).
Item: Notice of the shrine ceremony (shinjи fure) is to be given to Jinshi and Kyō, as the persons responsible for the御棚錺 (o-tana-kazari, the decorating of the sacred shelves/altar display) on the coming 14th day.
13th Day
Item: Immediately after breakfast, one servant (shimobe) is to be dispatched to the small office (ko-tsubone) at the shrine precincts to fetch the footed basket-boxes (ashi-tsuki no kagoke) and one lantern (andon) each. Note: the shimenawa (sacred rope) of the basket-boxes is to be replaced. If the lantern is damaged, its paper covering is also to be replaced.
Item: The items to be brought to the chōya (administrative building) are as follows:
Two hatchets (nata) Two saws (nokogiri) Small knives (each person to bring one)
Approximately twenty-five lengths of root wisteria vine (ne-fuji) (approximately 3–4 shaku in length; pound well and split into thin strips in advance)
