諸上納が行き届かない状況でしたが、遠路はるばる出向いた事情もあり、いずれにしても漆を持っている人々に知らせなければ人心が悪くなるので、あちこちにも申し伝えた趣旨により、追々漆を持ち込んでくる者が現れ、到底少々の買い入れでは人心が悪くなるように見受けられました。右の成り行きでやむを得ず、用意して持参した金子で調達し、その上九月十六日に飛脚が参り、右の事情を申してまいりましたので、やむを得ず金子六十両を差し遣わしました。右の金子で計算しているうちに、また漆を持ち込んでくるので、源兵衛の方にも逗留しがたく、ひじり野という所へ参り滞在しておりましたところ、同様に段々と懇願されて漆を持参してくるので、また々やむを得ず九月二十日に飛脚を出し、右のあれこれの事情を申してまいりましたので、これまたやむを得ず金子百両程度を持たせて遣わし、調達してようやく九月末に帰参いたしました。然るところ、右の漆を上方表へ積み送りましたところ、当地の相場は存外不景気で全く引き合いませんでしたが、あれこれ掛け合って少々だけ

Although various tax payments could not be adequately fulfilled, since I had come such a long distance, I had to inform the lacquer holders, otherwise public sentiment would turn bad. Due to this communication to various parties, people gradually began bringing lacquer, and it appeared that a small purchase would certainly worsen public sentiment. Due to this unavoidable situation, I procured lacquer with the funds I had prepared and brought with me. Furthermore, on September 16th, a courier arrived reporting on these developments, so I was compelled to send sixty ryō. While calculating with this money, more people continued bringing lacquer, making it difficult to lodge at Genbei's place, so I moved to stay at a place called Hijiri-no. There, similarly, people gradually came pleading and bringing lacquer, so again unavoidably on September 20th I dispatched a courier reporting on these various circumstances, and was again compelled to send about one hundred ryō to handle procurement. I finally returned at the end of September.
