Since there are occasions when I must rely on receiving a share of the burden in performing my duties, I petitioned regarding this matter, but for now I was ordered to continue performing duties and shipping as before, and I have made tribute payments and shipments accordingly. However, the business consistently fails to be profitable, with frequent weight shortfalls and various other matters resulting in considerable losses, causing me great difficulty. Regarding this year's lacquer purchasing, I have repeatedly shipped to Osaka and Kii domains as before, but with local market prices, it simply cannot be made profitable. Lacquer is a perishable commodity, and it is very difficult to distinguish the quality of substitute goods at the time of purchase. Now, when I engaged in trade anticipating Kamigata-standard measurements and deduction practices, it differs greatly from previous practices, making it impossible to conduct profitable business. If public sentiment turns negative, it would be shameful before the authorities, and I believe it would also be disadvantageous for Tokubei. Therefore, I humbly request that I be exempted from serving as a private financier for future purchasing. Given this situation, I have already discussed with Tokubei's establishment that they should seek financiers elsewhere from early this spring. Since I do not seek exceptional profits, I would contribute funds for purchasing purposes in a manner similar to providing collateral
