現代語訳
一、競馬の時、甚だしい雨であった。そこで小振り（短縮版）を略式で行うのが良いということで、一番・十番は恒例の通り行い、その他は三つ巴の小振りを一回のみで出走させた。この旨を階下から出口の肝煎中に示された。

一、九番左の季国は追い負けであった。しかし追い馬であるから負けではないとの由を階下に申し立てたが、追い馬でありながら追わない態度であった。埒中で三丈ほども後退して乗っていた。しかしそれを引き分けに決定すべき理由はないとの由を段々階下から申されたが、全く承引せず、季国については負けではないとの由を申し立て、既に頓宮へ参向して神拝を行った。階下においては負けに決定し、禄も出さないことになった。このような振る舞いは前代未聞のことである。庁屋での神供直会に着座するべきとの由であったが、この件については親族中の異見によるものか、直ちに退出した。
一、庁屋において神供直会が例の如く行われた。この時、重達（一番左）一人が乱緒を脱ぎ、その他は皆脱がなかった。両階下が着座した。神主別当（従三位保喬）は当所司の目代として着座せず、直ちに退出した。検断は庁屋の切板下の長床に着座した。階下・乗尻は切板上の畳に例の如く着座した。

1. During the horse racing, there was extremely heavy rain. Therefore, it was decided that an abbreviated koburi (shortened version) would be appropriate. The first and tenth positions proceeded as usual, while the rest performed a single round of the three-way koburi before being dismissed. This decision was conveyed from the reviewing stand to the supervisors at the exit.

1. Suekuni of the ninth position left was overtaken. However, he claimed to the reviewing stand that since he was in a pursuing position, this did not constitute a defeat. Although he was supposed to be pursuing, he showed no pursuing behavior. He rode while retreating about three jō within the barriers. When the reviewing stand repeatedly stated that there was no grounds for declaring this a draw, he showed no acceptance whatsoever. Regarding Suekuni, he insisted it was not a defeat and had already proceeded to Tongū shrine to perform worship. The reviewing stand decided it was a defeat and that no reward would be given. Such behavior was unprecedented. Although he should have taken his seat at the divine offering banquet in the office building, perhaps due to objections from his relatives, he immediately departed.
1. The divine offering banquet was held in the office building as usual. At this time, Shigetachi (first position left) alone removed his court cap cords, while all others did not remove theirs. Both reviewing stands took their seats. The head priest and administrator (Junior Third Rank Yasutaka) did not take his seat as the deputy of the current administrator and immediately departed. The inspector took his seat on the long platform below the wooden flooring in the office building. The reviewing stand officials and jockeys took their seats on the tatami mats above the wooden flooring as usual.
