直会においてはなおさら帯剣すべきである」と述べた。後日、滋野井良覚公にお尋ねしたところ、御同意であった。

一、当社の伝奏である中山中納言殿が御出でになった。表向きでの御出である。伝奏座敷に御簾を掛けた。御着用は水干で萌葱色をお召しになった。供《割書：先供五人、輿添四人》自一社中より五升樽《割書：一》粽《割書：五十把》花を進上したとのことである。
一、去年、御伝奏の広橋中納言殿より五月朔日同五日の競馬会について、伝奏奉行が表向きで御出になる例などを一社中へお尋ねになったため、清茂翁が勘考の上、則ち惣代が御伝奏へ持参したとのこと。御奉行の烏丸弁殿へも持参したとのこと。その例書を左に記す。

First, the court liaison (densō) for our shrine, Middle Counselor Lord Nakayama, made an official visit. It was a formal public visit. A bamboo screen was hung in the liaison's seating area. He wore a light court dress (suikan) in light green color. His entourage《Marginal note: five advance attendants, four palanquin attendants》 From the shrine, a five-shō sake barrel《Marginal note: one》, chimaki rice dumplings《Marginal note: fifty bundles》, and flowers were presented.
First, last year, from the court liaison Middle Counselor Lord Hirohashi, inquiries were made to the shrine regarding precedents for the court liaison supervisor making formal public visits for the horse racing ceremonies on the 1st and 5th days of the 5th month. Elder Kiyoshige investigated and then the general representative brought [the findings] to the court liaison. They were also brought to the supervisor Lord Karasumaru Ben. Those precedent records are noted below.
