一奉行烏丸左少弁資董為御見物御出尤社中
并供僧中ゟ進物如例但葉室右中弁頼寿

《割書：階下還揖之時乗尻《割書：左方｜》列立之場所相違之事｜》【朱書】
一当日雨儀左方乗尻奉幣相済階下季端申次
之作法了還揖之節左方乗尻若宮拝殿之
軒下階下例年還揖之場所ニ西上南面ニ列立
依之階下差当不能了簡平重門ノ軒下ゟ
対揖有之相済了之由ケ様之不法重而例ニ
相成候而者如何ニ付後日五月八日ニ一番ノ左
師保直参ト云上首ト云如何被相心得階下之作法
場被相塞候哉之旨経堅及掛合候処全心得
違之儀不調法之至ニ候間何卒穏便ニ相済
候様御取計可繕旨被申候ニ付此段季端丈ヘ
申聞同御殿勤仕之儀ニも候故被聞届相済了

現代語訳
一 奉行烏丸左少弁資董が御見物のため御出である。もっとも社中
並びに供僧中からの進物は例のとおりであるが、葉室右中弁頼寿、
甘露寺右少弁国長が御出で、伝奏桟敷において同様に
御見物である。
《割書：階下が還揖の時、乗尻《割書：左方》の列立の場所が違った件》【朱書】
一 当日雨のため、左方乗尻の奉幣が相済み、階下季端の申次
の作法が了して還揖の節、左方乗尻は若宮拝殿の
軒下で階下が例年還揖する場所に西上南面に列立した。
これによって階下が差し当たって了簡できず、平重門の軒下から
対揖があって相済んだとのこと。このような不法が重ねて例に
なってはいかがなものかということで、後日五月八日に一番の左
師保が直参といい上首といい、いかに心得て階下の作法の
場を塞いだのかという旨を経堅に掛け合ったところ、全く心得
違いの儀で不調法の至りであるので、何卒穏便に済む
ように御取り計らい願いたい旨を申したので、この段を季端殿へ
申し聞かせ、同御殿勤仕の儀でもあるので聞き届けて済んだ。

について、後日神主から違乱に及び、ついには言上に及んで官裁が
あった。

1. Magistrate Karasumaru Sashōben Sukemoto appeared for viewing. The offerings from the shrine
and temple monks were as usual, but Hamuro Uchūben Yorihisa and
Kanroji Ushōben Kuninaga also appeared and viewed from the same
denso viewing platform.

1. On that day due to rain, after the left side riders completed the ritual offerings and Suehashi of the lower-ranking officials completed
the protocol of reporting, at the time of the returning bow, the left side riders
lined up facing south with west as upper position under the eaves of Wakamiya worship hall
at the place where the lower-ranking officials usually perform the returning bow in previous years.
Due to this, the lower-ranking officials could not immediately manage the situation, so
a reciprocal bow was performed from under the eaves of Hirajū gate and the matter was concluded.
Considering how such irregularities might become precedent, on the later date of May 8th, inquiries were made to Tsunekata regarding the first race left side
participant Moriyasu, asking how he understood his position as direct participant and chief, and why he blocked
the ceremonial space of the lower-ranking officials. He replied that it was entirely
a misunderstanding and extremely improper conduct, and requested that
the matter be handled with discretion. This matter was reported to Lord Suehashi,
and since it involved service at the same palace, it was acknowledged and resolved.
