現代語訳
落馬した時、先馬は二度抜け出し、追馬は三度抜け出して、ようやく六回目に番（競走）となった。右方が勝ったけれども、小振の時に落馬したため罰として持（引き分け）となった。もっとも埒内で落馬した時は勝ちにはしないことが古実である。

〔洪水により足汰が延期され翌二日に執行された事〕【朱書】
一 四月二十八日より連日の雨で五月朔日に洪水となり、早天河原表の各所の橋が落ちたため、足汰を延期して翌二日に執行された事。ただし乗尻衆の社司亭での朝飯は例の通り朔日に行われた。
倭文庄 伊賀守氏衡
〔所司代がまだ交代せず、役が仰せ出されないため、倭文庄の馬を御奉行より出された事〕【朱書】
一 去る四月八日に所司代内藤紀伊守殿が卒去された後、まだ交代の役が仰せ出されないため、今年は倭文庄の馬を月番の東御奉行牧備後守殿より出された。警固は社中へ付けられ、社中より雇いで設けられた。警固頭共は例年通り武家より出された。ただし馬場表三口の警固の所に仲座を一人ずつ付け置かれた事。
英語訳
When the rider fell, the lead horse broke away twice, the following horse broke away three times, and finally on the sixth attempt the race took place. Although the right side won, because of the fall during the preliminary round, as punishment it was ruled a tie. It is an ancient custom that when a fall occurs within the barriers, it is not counted as a victory.

1. From April 28th there was continuous rain, and on May 1st there was flooding. The bridges at various points along the Hayaten riverbank fell, so the horse selection was postponed and held on the following 2nd day. However, the morning meal for the riders at the shrine officials' residence was held on the 1st as usual.
Shidori-shō: Iga-no-kami Ujihira
[Since the deputy governor has not yet been replaced and no appointment has been announced, the horse from Shidori-shō was provided by the magistrate] 【Written in red ink】
1. After Deputy Governor Lord Naitō Kii-no-kami passed away on April 8th, no replacement appointment has been announced yet, so this year the horse from Shidori-shō was provided by the monthly duty Eastern Magistrate Lord Maki Bingo-no-kami. Guards were assigned to the shrine community and hired from within the shrine community. The guard commanders were provided by the military houses as usual. However, one nakazaone person each was stationed at the three guard posts around the horse grounds.
