一 当年の足汰で小振（予備戦）を略す件について、二番の番（本戦）より略すのは違例である。全く総奉行中の不注意であろうか。

〔四日夜、保生が故障となったため氏清が補勤し、小中指は不要の事〕【朱書】
一 五番衆乗尻三番左の陣助大夫保生の嫡男〔四歳〕が四日夜戌の刻頃に死去した〔疱瘡とのこと〕。これにより即刻同じ組内の越前守氏清がその代役として席に就き、そのまま三番左の補勤を加えられた。もっとも参宮祓の後であるため、先例の通り小中指は不要の事。
ただし同夜、陰陽大夫が改めて氏清の邸に向かって御禊を建てる義は無く、保生の邸より氏清の邸へ移し建てる事が済んだとのこと。

1. Regarding this year's horse selection, omitting the preliminary rounds (ko-buri) and proceeding directly from the second main race is against precedent. This seems to be entirely due to carelessness among the chief magistrates.

[On the night of the 4th, Yasuo became incapacitated, so Ujiikiyo substituted and the finger-pointing ceremony was not necessary] 【Written in red ink】
1. The eldest son [4 years old] of Jin-suke Dayū Yasuo, the left rider of the third race among the five riders, died around the hour of the dog on the night of the 4th [smallpox, it is said]. Due to this, Echizen-no-kami Ujiikiyo from the same group immediately took his place as substitute and was additionally assigned to substitute for the left side of the third race. Since this occurred after the shrine purification, the finger-pointing ceremony was not necessary according to precedent.
However, that same night, there was no need for the Onmyō master to go to Ujiikiyo's residence to conduct a new purification ceremony; it was sufficient to transfer the arrangements from Yasuo's residence to Ujiikiyo's residence.
