一本云于時織田弾正忠平信長ヨリ御馬

ツ朔日ニ淡路守氏頼被乗候一疋ハ新宮祢宜ニ
立ツ宮内少輔保望被乗候二番へ上ル也于時宮
内少輔妻筑後守氏慶之軽服也雖然朔日ニ
宮内少輔被乗也此鞍皆具ハ新敷ヲ乗初
ニ社人ニ乗ヨトノ御諚ニテ大田又助殿御奉行
ニテ被仰渡此鐙ハ判官（義経）殿一谷テツカイカカケ（鉄拐嶺鵯越ヲ）
ヲ乗ヲトシ玉フ鐙ノ由也五日ニ信長殿御子
息御チヤセン殿御見物ニ御出候御急ニ付テ一

《割書：信長（五日）殿御子息御見物御出のこと》【朱書】
両日とも雨が降り、織田若殿が御見物された。惣中より一献を参らせた。御馬は両日とも信長殿より参り、一段と甲斐甲斐しく結構であった。三番に中務大輔（光久）が左、兵庫助（保朝）が右で、踏み擦りなしに勝負があり、堤に障害があった。階下より御使いがあって「乗り直せ」とあったが、乗り直さず、中務大輔が負け、兵庫助が勝った。悪しき例である。

一本に云う。その時織田弾正忠平信長より御馬二十疋が出された。

内二疋は信長の御馬である。一疋は倭文に立て、朔日に淡路守氏頼が乗られた。一疋は新宮祢宜に立て、宮内少輔保望が乗られ、二番へ上った。その時宮内少輔の妻は筑後守氏慶の軽服であった。然りと雖も朔日に宮内少輔が乗られた。この鞍皆具は新しきを乗り初めに社人に乗れとの御諚にて、大田又助殿の御奉行にて仰せ渡された。この鐙は判官（義経）殿が一谷で鉄拐嶺鵯越を乗り落とし給うた鐙の由である。五日に信長殿の御子息御茶仙殿が御見物に御出でになった。御急ぎにつき一番のみ三遅れ候いて、残りは鐙擦りのみにて、

また三番のは正鼓も堤も合わなかった。穿鑿の内に四番の馬が早く柵へ入ったため、三番目の中書が負けになった。然らば鞭も合わず

It rained on both days, and the young Lord Oda came to observe. A献酒 (ceremonial drink offering) was presented from the entire group. Horses were provided by Lord Nobunaga on both days, which was most admirable and excellent. In the third race, Nakatsukasa-dayū (Mitsuhisa) on the left and Hyōgo-no-suke (Yasutomo) on the right had a contest without proper踏み擦り (starting procedure), and there was an obstruction at the embankment. A messenger came from below saying "ride again," but they did not ride again. Nakatsukasa-dayū lost and Hyōgo-no-suke won. This was a bad precedent.

Two of these were Nobunaga's own horses. One horse was positioned at Shidori, and Awaji-no-kami Ujiyori rode it on the first day. One horse was positioned at Shingū Negi, and Kunai-shōyū Yasumochi rode it, advancing to the second race. At that time, Kunai-shōyū's wife was in light mourning attire for Chikugo-no-kami Ujiyoshi. Nevertheless, Kunai-shōyū rode on the first day. These saddles and full equipment were new, and by imperial command that shrine personnel should ride them for the first use, this was announced under the supervision of Lord Ōta Matasuke. These stirrups were said to be the ones that Lord Hōgan (Yoshitsune) used when he rode down at Ichi-no-tani via Tekkai-mine and Hiyodorigoe. On the 5th day, Lord Nobunaga's son, Lord Ochōsen, came to observe. Due to the urgency, only the first race had three delays, and the rest were conducted with only stirrup-rubbing.

Moreover, in the third race, neither the proper drum nor the embankment coordinated. During the investigation, the fourth race's horse entered the barrier early, so the third race's Nakakyō lost. In that case, even the whips did not coordinate properly.
