五月二日、院御所様から競馬の装束、冠、太刀、蝉尾袴の左右の分二具を新調して御奉納された。五月三日の晩に森尚父のもとへ参った。一番の乗り手は左が山城守能長、右方が備後守保総で、初めて着用した。五日に雨が降った。

朝から夕方まで雨が降った。社務、乗り手左右共に御所屋に着座した。

この年の代官衆は左が権少輔与久、右が下総守であった。この年は大雨で、左右共に御所の屋へ乗り手衆が着座した。
《割書：雨のため左右共に御所屋に着座し、先例に任せて乗り手は草鞋を履いたまま社務へ礼をしたこと》【朱書】
左は東方、右は西方に着座した。社務への乗り手の礼は、草鞋を履いたまま上へ上がり、左右共に礼があった。天文十五年の例に任せてこのように行った。その上、往古の例もあった。

《Marginal note: The matter of offering two sets of costumes for left and right sides from the Imperial Palace》【Red ink】
On May 2nd, His Excellency from the Imperial Palace offered newly tailored horse racing costumes - caps, swords, and cicada-tail hakama - in two sets for the left and right sides. On the evening of May 3rd, they went to Mori Shōfu. The first race riders were Yamashiro-no-kami Yoshinaga on the left side and Bingo-no-kami Yasufusa on the right side, wearing them for the first time. It rained on the 5th day.

It rained from morning until evening. Shrine officials and riders from both left and right sides took seats in the palace building.

This year's deputy officials were Gon-no-shōyū Yoshihisa on the left and Shimōsa-no-kami on the right. This year there was heavy rain, and riders from both left and right sides took seats in the palace building.

The left side sat on the east side, the right side sat on the west side. The riders' formal greeting to the shrine officials was performed by going up while still wearing straw sandals, with both left and right sides performing the courtesy. This was done following the precedent of Tenbun 15th year. Moreover, there were ancient precedents for this.
