It is said. Also, during times of court mourning and suspension of duties, the horse races at Kamo Shrine on the 1st and 5th days of the 5th month 《Marginal note: Recording examples of postponement of the two-day horse racing meet during court mourning and suspension of duties》【Red ink】 were postponed. As an example of postponement, the Nisui Records state: "In Daiei 6, year of the fire-dog (1526), on the 7th day of the 4th month, when Emperor Go-Kashiwabara passed away, the horse racing was postponed, and horse racing was held on the 11th and 15th days of the 6th month." From Daiei 6 to Keian 4 is perhaps 128 years. Keian 5 (1652) 《Marginal note: Era name changed on 9th month, 11th day to Jōō 1》 Left: Chikugo-no-kami Shigetsugu Won 《Marginal note: Horse of Magistrate Suō-dono》 First race Right: Daizen-shin Motohisa 《Marginal note: Lost, fell from horse》《Marginal note: Horse of Gomi Bizen-dono》 Left: Ōkura-jō Yōhei 《Marginal note: Horse of Mizuno Iwami-no-kami-dono》 Second race Right: Mino-no-kami Yasusuke 《Marginal note: Draw, fell from horse》《Marginal note: Same as above》 Left: Ukon-shōgen Chikahisa 《Marginal note: Won》《Marginal note: Nonaka Hiruiya horse》 Third race Right: Tajima-no-kami Seigen 《Marginal note: Lost, fell from horse》《Marginal note: Magistrate's horse of Mizuno Iwami-no-kami-dono of Fushimi》 《Marginal note: The court dress was donated by the Empress Dowager's Palace》【Red ink】 The court dress for both left and right riders was received from the Empress Dowager's Palace, and both riders wore it when making ritual offerings before the gods. The deputies were: for the left court rider, Genba-suke in place of Uneme-suke; for the right court rider, Tanba-no-kami in place of Sakyō-shin. 《Marginal note: Yasuhisa's wife suddenly entered the fifty-day mourning period, making it impossible to ride》【Red ink】 For the third race, Uneme-no-jō Yasuhisa had a woman attendant whose mother suddenly died, putting her in a fifty-day mourning period. There was investigation into precedents for riding during a woman's fifty-day mourning period, but since there were no precedents, the consensus was that discretion should be exercised, so it was called off.
