現代語訳
代理として見舞いに行き、その穿鑿（詮議）を聞き申し上げたところ、「これは以前からのことである。着座した以上はその座を立たないのが今日の故実である。故に古今に例がない」と申した時、起久は覧箱を片付けた。しかしながら起久の申し分は非礼であるため、申し分を述べずにそのまま済ませた。その体裁が見苦しい様子であったので、子息の修理大夫雄平が異見を述べ、即座に同道にて退散した。
このような事は後代のために書き加えておいた。後で聞いたところによると、松下順久は「理由もなく前例のないことを申し出るのは沙汰の限りである」と憤慨して申されたという。
今日、順久も庁屋での着座を行わず、不法であるという。

[Sueyoshi] went as a representative to offer condolences and inquired about the investigation, saying "This is a matter from before. Once one has taken a seat, not rising from that seat is today's precedent. Therefore, there is no example of this in ancient or modern times." When this was said, Okihisa put away the viewing box. However, since Okihisa's argument was improper, he did not voice his objection and the matter was settled as it was. Since this appeared unseemly, his son Shuri-dayū Takehira offered his opinion, and they immediately withdrew together.
Such matters have been added in writing for future generations. Later it was heard that Matsushita Nobuhisa angrily declared, "To propose unprecedented matters without reason is beyond all bounds."
Today, Nobuhisa also did not take his seat in the government building, calling it unlawful.
