入白河殿江地穢之子細被尋之従社家武
家江差出候両度之書《割書：廿五日｜廿七日》等も被附送由也
因茲同廿八日従白川殿返答之趣書付一通
被差出之則従両伝奏被遣于紀伊守殿許云々

口上覚
一松平紀伊守殿此度被混穢候ニ付賀茂足揃
競馬に人馬被指出候事如何被存候故御
尋之趣致承知候
一地穢混合之人馬ニ而候者御憚尤ニ被存候勿
論穢者甲乙丙三段迄憚候故踏合有之候

について御重服でございます由にて候。稲葉丹後守様の御息女様御逝去の由、日記の書き留めに相見えます。五味備前守様の御服喪の義は、御指合いとばかり留めに相見えます。以上

右の書付を持参したところ、別儀なく留め置かれました。後に聞くところでは、紀伊守殿から武家伝奏衆（柳原前大納言資廉、高野前中納言保春）まで申し入れられ、白河殿へ地穢れの子細を尋ねられ、社家から武家へ差し出した両度の書（二十五日、二十七日）等も附け送られた由です。
これにより、同二十八日に白川殿から返答の趣の書付一通が差し出され、すなわち両伝奏から紀伊守殿の許へ遣わされたということです。
その書付は左に見る通りです（この書付は社中日記には留められていません。私的に内証で写し留めたものです）。
口上覚
一、松平紀伊守殿、この度穢れに触れられた件につき、賀茂の足揃え・競馬に人馬を指し出される事をいかが思われるかの故に、御尋ねの趣を承知いたしました。
一、地穢れに混合した人馬であれば、御憚りがもっともと存じます。もちろん穢れには甲乙丙の三段まで憚りがあるため、踏み合わせがございます。

regarding [Tsuchiya Sagami-no-kami being] in heavy mourning. Regarding the death of Inaba Tango-no-kami's daughter, this is recorded in the diary entries. Concerning Gomi Bizen-no-kami's mourning, it appears to be noted only as a scheduling conflict. The above.

When the above document was submitted, it was accepted without objection. Later we heard that from Kii-no-kami to the Buke-densō (court-bakufu liaison officials - Yanagihara Former Dainagon Sukakado and Takano Former Chūnagon Yasuharu), an inquiry was made to Shirakawa-dono regarding the details of earth defilement, and the two documents (from the 25th and 27th days) that had been submitted from the shrine families to the warrior houses were also forwarded.
Accordingly, on the same 28th day, one written response was submitted from Shirakawa-dono, which was then sent from both densō to Kii-no-kami's residence.

Memorandum of Oral Statement
1. Regarding Matsudaira Kii-no-kami having been contaminated by defilement on this occasion, we have acknowledged the inquiry as to what should be thought about sending people and horses to the Kamo foot inspection and horse racing.
1. If they are people and horses mixed with earth defilement, we believe respectful abstention is most appropriate. Naturally, since defilement has three levels of severity (kō, otsu, hei), there are considerations to be weighed.
