【右丁】
【上段】
さて、杉の森富介は、まだ暑さも去りかねる時節なので、ふと思いついて白狐からもらった玉を暖簾に染めさせ、武蔵や下総の間で店を開き、花火を仕込んだ。その後年々繁盛して富裕な身となり、思うように前世で森の丞が契りを交わした松崎を尋ねたところ、その節、金子が調わないうちに病気になり、ついに空しくなったという噂があったため、富介は大金を出して松崎稲荷大明神として安置した。今も通人たちの参詣がおびただしいことである。

「このごろは、この店がとんだ繁盛だ」

「晩には六つがあるから、人の多いのなんの、精一杯出してもまにあわぬ」

「この次には十二丁提灯をつけよう。早く片づけて霧を見に行きたい」
富介は人間になってからは花火商売をして大金を儲け、店は繁盛したのであった。

Now, Suginomori Tomisuke, as it was still a season when the heat had not yet subsided, suddenly had an idea and had the jewel received from the white fox dyed into a shop curtain (noren). He opened a shop between Musashi and Shimousa provinces and stocked fireworks. Thereafter, his business prospered year after year, and he became wealthy. When he inquired about Matsusaki, with whom Mori-no-jō had made a pledge in a previous life, he heard rumors that she had fallen ill before money could be arranged and had ultimately died. Therefore, Tomisuke spent a large sum to enshrine her as Matsusaki Inari Daimyōjin. Even now, the pilgrimage of sophisticated urbanites there is remarkable.
