【右丁】
その後、白狐夫婦は九郎介を近くに呼び出し、「だんだんと守の丞の身持ちが悪ければ勘当しよう」と相談すると、「してやったり」と九郎介が言うようになった。「なるほどごもっともに存じます。お詫びも申し上げるのは私ですが、いまだご存知はないでしょうが、お家の宝である宝珠と鍵まで、とうに質物に入れて、ご宝蔵は空っぽです」と言ったので、夫婦は肝をつぶした。
「せがれめに憎い奴。遊女狂いの余り、宝物まで失って。そんな言い訳ができるものか。七生までも勘当だ。出て行け。」
娘のみさきは嘆く。
「お母さん、どうぞ許してくださいませんか。」
「どうも主人のあの怒りようでは、詫びても納得してくださるまい。」
【下段】
「どうも気の毒なことだ。しかし身から出た錆とやら、仕方がない。もし見すぼらしい格好の親子の罰が当たってしまったのか。」
【左丁】
「これこれ守の丞、どうぞ宝の品を取り戻してきたら、その節は私が取り成して、勘当も許されるようにしましょう。これから心を入れ替えて辛抱し、とにかく宝を取り戻すのが肝要ですぞ。かわいい婿殿よ、それでは。」
【下段】
「身に過ちがあるゆえ、何も言えません。九郎介、覚えていろ。お二人様、みさきも、それでは。」

After that, the white fox couple called Kurōsuke nearby and consulted with him: "Since Mori-no-jō's conduct is getting worse and worse, we should disown him." Kurōsuke thought "Perfect!" and said: "Indeed, that seems quite reasonable. I should be the one apologizing, but though you may not yet know it, even the house treasures—the precious jewel and key—have long been pawned, and your treasure storehouse is empty." Upon hearing this, the couple were shocked.
"That detestable son! In his obsession with courtesans, he's even lost the family treasures. There's no excuse for such behavior! He's disowned for seven lifetimes—get out!"
Their daughter Misaki laments:
"Mother, please, won't you forgive him?"
"With the master in such a rage, even an apology wouldn't satisfy him."

"How pitiful this is. But it's a case of reaping what you sow—there's nothing to be done. Perhaps this is divine punishment for becoming such wretched-looking parents and child."
