一 同日夜
忠直様から御使者小栗忠八に仰せ含められたことには、今日
神君の上意を恥辱とお思いになり、明日の合戦では諸手に関わらず
先発されたいとのことで、追って御出陣される旨を仰せ進められた。これにより
忠昌様の御前に岡部豊後長起等を初めとして召し出され、敵城に寄せる際の足場の
模様並びに各口から本丸までの道筋の遠近等の儀についてお尋ねになり、その上で
仰せ出されたことには、このような時に戦功を心がけることは誰にも劣らないであろうが
特に止むを得ない御事情により、少しも油断なく人の後にならないよう城内に
押し込んで一番乗りを成したいので、そのように心得て粉骨を尽くすべきである。また

真中に将棋頭として御出張し、天王寺と茶磨山に御向かいになり、敵将
森豊前守勝永の備えに御対陣して御備えを成された。時刻も移ったため
忠昌様は御備えから鉄砲を御懸けになり、御馬を進められて頻りに
御下知をなされたので、兵卒が競い進み、激しい戦闘となり手詰まりの合戦に移った
折しも烈風が吹き起こり、敵の旗色が乱れたため、敵備えに崩れる様子が立ったので、皆で突き崩せと

Lord Tadanao conveyed through his messenger Oguri Chūhachi that today
he considered the Divine Lord's command humiliating, and for tomorrow's battle, regardless of other forces,
he wished to advance first, and would subsequently commence his departure. Accordingly,
Lord Tadamasa summoned to his presence Okabe Bungo Nagaoki and others, inquiring about the conditions of footholds
for approaching the enemy castle, as well as the distances of routes from various entrances to the main keep, and thereafter
declared that at such times, being mindful of military achievements should not be inferior to anyone, but
especially due to unavoidable circumstances, without any negligence and not falling behind others, he wished to
press into the castle and achieve first entry, so they should understand this and exhaust all efforts. Furthermore,

he ordered that horses be fed and provisions prepared immediately, and after the hour of the Boar, secretly took position and
departed, advancing toward Tennōji
一 5th month, 7th day, dawn:
Lord Tadanao's vanguard had Honda Tange Narushige on the right and Honda Izu-no-kami Tomimasa on the left in formation,
with himself deployed as commander in the center, facing Tennōji and Chasuriyama, where enemy general
Mori Buzen-no-kami Katsunaga was positioned, and they formed up in opposition. As time passed,
Lord Tadamasa opened fire from his formation, advanced his horse, and frequently
issued commands, causing the soldiers to compete in advancing, leading to intense combat and a deadlocked battle.
Just then a fierce wind arose, and the enemy's banners became disordered, causing signs of collapse in the enemy formation, so [the cry went up] "Everyone, break through!"
