虎之助様（改名された月日は詳細不明）が江戸にいらっしゃった折、越前国北庄で騒動（久世但馬と岡部自休の争論）が起こった旨をお聞きになり、心配にお思いになって北庄へお越しになった。忠直様と一緒に事態を鎮静化させたいと思われ、お暇を願い出られたところ、神君（徳川家康）がお聞きになり、「御若年であるにも関わらず神妙な心がけであると思うが、追って双方ともお呼び出しして御糺断を行う予定であるから、お止めになるように」と仰せ出された。

While Lord Toranosuke (the date of his name change is not specified) was in Edo, he heard about a disturbance in Kitanoshō, Echizen Province (a dispute between Kuze Tajima and Okabe Jikyū) and became concerned. He wished to go to Kitanoshō to join with Lord Tadanao in pacifying the situation and requested leave of absence. When the Divine Lord (Tokugawa Ieyasu) heard of this, he declared: "Though you are young in years, your intentions are commendable, but I will summon both parties later for official judgment, so please refrain from going."
