大便小便が普通通りであれば吉兆の疱瘡である。頭や顔に多数出ると言っても
粒が分かれて肌の地肌が鮮やかであれば心配はない。
もしくは蚕の卵のような形になるもの、もしくはその色が白っぽく肌の
色と同じで火傷のようなもの、出るかと思えば隠れ、隠れる
かと思えば現れるもの、発熱一二日にして発疹し、または
熱なくして現れて後から熱が出るものは極めて重要である。
初めに額より現れるのを良しとする。顎や咽喉の下より現れるのは
必ず発疹が多い。両頬の疱瘡の粒が分かれて出るのは良い

症状である。いずれにしても両頬はべったりとして粒立ちが分かれ
にくいものである。両頬さえはっきり出れば後からたくさん出てこない
ものである。総じて良い疱瘡は胸や腹にはないものである。
また頭や顔に見えずして手足あるいは腰や尻の辺りより
現れるものは逆症であって良くない。またこの時皮膚一枚の
内側にあって出て浮かないものは甚だ難しく、是非とも
狂い騒いで無性に泣くものである。看病の人は十分に
心を付けるべきである。発疹三日を出揃いとする。足に出るのを
言う。軽いものは足の裏になくても三日になれば
出揃いとすべきである。疱瘡の三関はまず二度の関所

When they emerge with white color on top and red at the base, with the pox having a lustrous appearance, and when touched by hand, heat is clearly felt each time, with good appetite and normal bowel and urinary movements, this indicates auspicious smallpox. Even if many appear on the head and face, if the pustules are separate and the skin's surface is clear, there is no cause for concern.
Some may become like silkworm eggs, or some may be whitish in color, the same as the skin color and burn-like in appearance. They appear and then hide, hide and then appear again. Those that develop rash within one or two days of fever, or those that appear without fever and then develop fever are extremely critical.
It is considered good when they first appear on the forehead. When they appear from under the chin and throat, there will necessarily be many eruptions. When the pox pustules on both cheeks emerge separately, this is a good

symptom. In any case, both cheeks typically appear flat with pustules that are difficult to distinguish separately.
Once both cheeks clearly erupt, many more will not emerge afterward. Generally, good smallpox does not appear on the chest or abdomen.
Also, when they appear not on the head or face but on the hands and feet or around the waist and buttocks, this is a reverse symptom and is not good. Also, at this time, those that remain under a single layer of skin and do not emerge and float are extremely difficult cases, and the patient will inevitably become delirious, agitated, and cry uncontrollably. The caregiver must pay close attention.
Three days of eruption is considered "full emergence." This refers to eruption on the feet. For mild cases, even if there are none on the soles of the feet, after three days it should be considered full emergence. The three barriers of smallpox are first the two barrier checkpoints
