かせ口（くち）になりては順痘（じゆんとう）にても熱（ねつ）出るもの也／夫故（それゆへ）に笹（さゝ）
湯（ゆ）の加減（かげん）氣（き）を付（つく）べし此時に小便（せうべん）通（つふ）じ少（すくな）くば餘毒（よどく）を
拂（はら）ふべしもし不食（ふしよく）する時は裏（うら）のよはみと合点（がてん）し頭痛（づつう）
すれば目（め）に氣を付（つく）べし大便（だいべん）こわばるは餘毒なり扨又

収斂（乾燥）三日間の良し悪しの心得の事
疱瘡には遅いものと速いものの二種類がある。いずれも笹湯の程度が悪ければ、疱瘡が膿み返すことがある。またこの三日を過ぎても疱瘡がそのままで乾燥する様子のないものがある。内部の虚寒と毒気の余熱によるものである。この二つを考えて知るべきである。良い疱瘡は頭頂部、口、鼻のあたりから乾燥し始め、胸、脇、手足に及び、上から順繰りに乾燥して、できものの蓋が厚く堅くして膿み返すということがなくて

この時、手足の関節のあたりに痛む疱瘡があれば、より良いものである。早速に毒を払う薬を用いるべきである。水靨というものがある。乾燥する時に粒と粒が一つになって、疱瘡の先から汁が出て流れて固まるのである。手足や身体には活石灰のようなものを一面に振りかけ、衣装に付かないように用心すべきである。
乾燥口になると順調な疱瘡でも熱が出るものである。それ故に笹湯の加減に気を付けるべきである。この時に小便が通じ少なければ余毒を払うべきである。もし食べない時は内部の弱りと合点し、頭痛すれば目に気を付けるべきである。大便が硬ばるのは余毒である。さて、笹湯は日数限りによるべきではない。余毒が長引けば

There are two types of smallpox: slow and fast. With either type, if the bamboo leaf decoction is improperly administered, the pox may suppurate again. Also, there are cases where even after these three days pass, the pox remain unchanged with no signs of drying. This is due to internal deficiency-cold and residual heat from toxic qi. One should consider and understand these two factors. Good smallpox begins drying from the crown of the head, mouth, and nose area, extending to the chest, sides, and limbs, drying sequentially from above, with the pustule caps becoming thick and hard without suppurating again.

At this time, if there are painful pox around the joints of the hands and feet, this is a better sign. One should immediately use medicines to expel the toxins. There is something called "water pocks" (水靨). When drying, pustule and pustule unite as one, and fluid emerges from the tip of the pox, flows and hardens.
