○松本地方の地面が不平であることについて、昨冬畦直し（境界線の修正）を命じられたところ、右の両寺並びに甚兵衛という者が最初から異議を申し出て、納得証文に印形を押さず、終始自分勝手を主張し続けた不届きな様子であったため、鎮徳寺・国昌寺並びに甚兵衛の持高分を取り上げて総分高に命じられたので、この段を代官らへ申し聞かせて処理させる。

○松本地方の高地面が不平であることについて、昨冬畦直しを命じられたところ、右の両寺並びに甚兵衛という者が段々不届きな様子であったことが達せられたため、右三人の者の持高分を取り上げて総分高に命じられたので、この段を代官らへ申し聞かせるよう奉行らへ申し渡したので、そのように心得て、今後の処理方については奉行と相談して処理すべきである。

○御家中の養子並びに妻女の縁談で格違いの取り組みをお好みでない御事情があるため、寛政九年巳年に改正を命じられたところ、本多内蔵助方の家来は古来から他所の家中との取り組み等が間々あったところ、あれこれと支障が多くなって迷惑している旨、当御評議をしていただくよう内願があったので、すぐにお聞き届けがあったところ、格別のお思し召しをもって、内蔵助方家来分で指物以上の養子並びに妻女の縁談取り組みは従来通り、右以下の侍分の取り組みはその時の吟味をもって命じられるべきである。この段を内蔵助方へ達すべきである。

○諸寺院再建について在々からの寄進の材木その他諸材木の川流しについて、従来から度々厳しく申し出られているが、心得違いもあるのか、支配人を付き添わせずに流す材木が間々ある様子が聞こえ、不届きなことである。年々川除並びに用水の普請所をどれほど丈夫に仕立てても、出水の際に材木が突っかかっては大破となり、過分な費用がかかるので、たとえ山方役所の極印があっても、今後は支配人を付き添わせない材木については、川筋の村々で取り上げておき、山方役所へ申し達すれば、右材木の分は取り上げに及ばず、その村へ下し置くべきであり、また様子により取り

○ Regarding the uneven ground in Matsumoto district, when leveling of field boundaries was ordered last winter, the aforementioned two temples and a person named Jinbei raised objections from the beginning, refused to affix their seals to the consent documents, and persistently insisted on their own way in an insubordinate manner. Therefore, the landholdings of Chintoku-ji Temple, Kokushō-ji Temple, and Jinbei have been confiscated and designated as general domain land. The deputies should be informed of this matter and handle it accordingly.

○ Regarding the uneven elevated ground in Matsumoto district, when boundary leveling was ordered last winter, it was reported that the aforementioned two temples and the person named Jinbei showed increasingly insubordinate behavior. Therefore, the landholdings of these three persons have been confiscated and designated as general domain land. Since this matter has been conveyed to be communicated to the deputies through the magistrates, this should be understood accordingly, and future handling of this matter should be dealt with in consultation with the magistrates.

○ Regarding adoptions and marriage arrangements for women in the lord's retainer group, since marriages between different ranks are not favored by His Lordship, reforms were ordered in the 9th year of Kansei (Year of the Snake). However, the retainers of Honda Kuranosuke's household have had occasional arrangements with retainers of other domains since ancient times, but various complications have increased, causing difficulties. Since there was a private petition requesting deliberation on this matter, it was immediately heard and granted. With special consideration, for Kuranosuke's retainers of ashigaru rank and above, adoptions and marriage arrangements for women shall continue as before, while for those of samurai rank below this level, arrangements shall be ordered based on examination at the time. This matter should be communicated to Kuranosuke's household.

○ Regarding the floating of timber and other materials donated from rural areas for the reconstruction of various temples, strict orders have been issued repeatedly since ancient times. However, perhaps due to misunderstanding, timber is occasionally floated without accompanying supervisors, which is reported to be happening and is inexcusable. No matter how sturdily flood control and irrigation construction sites are built each year, if timber gets caught during floods, it causes major damage and excessive expenses. Therefore, even if mountain office certification stamps are present, henceforth timber floated without accompanying supervisors should be confiscated by villages along the river course.
