被下置事
一御坊主罷出候節左之通 御参府御当日 御参勤御礼日
御発駕御当日 不時恐悦候事
右之節に御掛合御酒御支度有之被下置候へ共以来は御吸物御酒御肴採小皿に而二種可
被指出候事御右筆部やへ罷出候面々其餘以下一統同様に有之事
一上使之節御坊主共御掛合一汁三菜之処以後は一汁二菜香之物とも外に御国塩肴類
一種被差出御酒御吸物御肴御菓子等被相止候事
但寒気之節抔は不時に御酒被下置御肴も一二種軽ク可被下事
一不時罷出候者於御右筆部や御掛合或は草餅御吸物等被下被相止候事
但無拠御用等に而手間取候節は格別之事
一御帳前是迄並奉書之処新帳紙に被仰付書キ方並体に可相認事
一表御納戸御作事方御台所雑用方或は御金方御用之儀夫々役方へ御右筆部屋ゟ直
々被申付候へ共以來は御奉行へ被申聞御奉行へ申付候上に而献上物或は色品之儀共役方ゟ
直々御右筆部やへ相伺候様に可取扱事
但御奉行御用向に而御門外へ罷出候節は御勝手役へ可被申付候無拠儀に而御奉行御勝手
役ともに御門外へ罷出候はヽ其節は御勘定所へ被申越候へは御用相弁シ候事
一夜分御門外へ御用使弐人つヽ指出候儀壱人つヽ差出遠方或は及深更候儀は吟味之上両人
可差出候事
一祭礼に付御一門様方御出之儀御頼被仰入候とも御年限中御断被成候事
一同断に付能役者家内之者相頼御長屋へ罷越儀一切可被相止事
一表御番士之外平士并小役人定肩衣に不及事
但御徒目付共中之口御取次に罷出候に付当番之者壱人肩衣着用可罷在事
一御方々様御出殿之儀可相成丈御一所に相成不申様申上候処廉立候儀は勿論御了
簡被遊御延気等之儀は御指支之趣有之段於廣に可申上旨被仰出候事
一御延気之節弁当所御徒并台子立テ之儀可被相止事
但表御坊主壱人は可差越事
一御延気之節御膳具相止御小弁当斗相廻り候事
一御鷹御羽合之節は一橋ゟ御借被成候而御羽合之事
但御鷹匠并同心被下物は御内証ゟ被下候事
一下廊下行灯相止御用之節は手燭持可致往来事
一御医師衆御薬礼御段に准し御取扱可有之事
一御家中諸被下儀此度格別之御倹約に付追而御改正之儀も可有之候銘々心得にも可
相成候故夫々可申通置事
現代語訳
下し置かれること
一 御坊主が罷り出る節は左の通り 御参府御当日 御参勤御礼日
御発駕御当日 不時の恐悦の事
右の節に御掛け合い・御酒の御支度があり下し置かれているが、以来は御吸物・御酒・御肴を小皿で二種指し出すべきこと。御右筆部屋へ罷り出る面々、その余以下一統同様にあること
一 上使の節、御坊主共への御掛け合いは一汁三菜の処、以後は一汁二菜・香の物とも外に御国の塩肴類一種を差し出し、御酒・御吸物・御肴・御菓子等は相止めること
但し寒気の節などは不時に御酒を下し置かれ、御肴も一二種軽く下されること
一 不時に罷り出る者について、御右筆部屋での御掛け合いあるいは草餅・御吸物等を下されることを相止めること
但し止むを得ない御用等で手間取る節は格別のこと
一 御帳前はこれまで奉書であったが、新帳紙に仰せ付けられ、書き方は従来通りの体で認めること
一 表御納戸・御作事方・御台所雑用方あるいは御金方の御用の儀は、それぞれ役方へ御右筆部屋より直々申し付けているが、以来は御奉行へ申し聞かせ、御奉行へ申し付けた上で、献上物あるいは色品の儀とも役方より直々御右筆部屋へ相伺うよう取り扱うこと
但し御奉行が御用向で御門外へ罷り出る節は、御勝手役へ申し付けるべし。止むを得ない儀で御奉行・御勝手役ともに御門外へ罷り出れば、その節は御勘定所へ申し越されれば御用を相弁じること
一 夜分御門外への御用使は二人ずつ指し出していた儀を一人ずつ差し出し、遠方あるいは深更に及ぶ儀は吟味の上両人
を差し出すこと
一 祭礼につき御一門様方の御出の儀を御頼み申し入れられても、御年限中は御断りされること
一 同断につき能役者家内の者に相頼み御長屋へ罷り越す儀は一切相止めるべきこと
一 表御番士の外、平士並びに小役人は定肩衣に及ばないこと
但し御徒目付共が中の口御取次に罷り出るにつき、当番の者一人は肩衣着用で罷り在るべきこと
一 御方々様の御出殿の儀は成るだけ御一所に相成らぬよう申し上げている処、廉立つ儀はもちろん御了簡され、御延気等の儀は御指支えの趣がある段を広に申し上げるべき旨仰せ出されたこと
一 御延気の節、弁当所の御徒並びに台子立ての儀は相止めるべきこと
但し表御坊主一人は差し越すべきこと
一 御延気の節は御膳具を相止め、御小弁当のみ相回ること
一 御鷹の御羽合いの節は一橋より御借りされて御羽合いのこと
但し御鷹匠並びに同心への下し物は御内証より下されること
一 下廊下の行灯を相止め、御用の節は手燭持ちで往来すること
一 御医師衆への御薬礼は御段に准じて御取扱いがあること
一 御家中諸々への下し儀は、この度格別の御倹約につき追って御改正の儀もあるであろう。銘々心得にも相成るであろうから、それぞれ申し通し置くこと

Day of departure, Occasions of unexpected congratulations
For these occasions, refreshments and sake preparations have been provided, but henceforth soup, sake, and side dishes shall be served in small plates with two varieties. The same applies to all those who appear at the secretarial office and others of lower rank
1. For imperial envoy occasions, priests' refreshments have been one soup and three dishes, but henceforth shall be one soup and two dishes with pickles, plus one type of domain salt-preserved delicacies, while sake, soup, side dishes, and confections shall be discontinued
However, during cold weather and such, sake may be provided occasionally, and one or two types of light side dishes may be served
1. For those who appear unexpectedly, refreshments at the secretarial office or grass rice cakes, soup, etc. shall be discontinued
However, when unavoidably detained by official business, exceptions may be made
1. Account ledgers have used formal paper until now, but new ledger paper has been ordered, with writing style to remain in the same format as before
1. Regarding business of the outer treasury, construction works, kitchen supplies, or financial office, orders have been given directly from the secretarial office to respective departments, but henceforth shall be communicated to the magistrate, and after the magistrate gives orders, offerings or various items shall be inquired about directly from departments to the secretarial office
However, when the magistrate goes outside the gate on official business, orders shall be given to the financial officer. If unavoidably both magistrate and financial officer go outside the gate, then if communicated to the accounting office, they will handle the business
1. Night messengers outside the gate have been sent two at a time, but shall be sent one at a time; for distant places or late night matters, after deliberation, two people
shall be sent
1. Regarding festival celebrations, even if requests are made for main family members to attend, they shall be declined during the designated period
1. Similarly, requesting Noh performers' family members to come to the quarters shall be entirely discontinued
1. Except for palace guard samurai, ordinary samurai and minor officials need not wear formal court dress
However, since foot inspectors appear at the middle gate reception, one person on duty shall wear court dress
1. Regarding distinguished personages' palace visits, we have requested that they avoid gathering in one place as much as possible, and it has been announced that matters requiring discretion should of course be considered, and when there are postponements due to obstacles, this should be broadly communicated
1. During postponements, lunch attendants and table setup shall be discontinued
However, one palace priest shall be sent
1. During postponements, formal meal service shall be stopped and only light meals shall be circulated
1. For hawk flying sessions, hawks shall be borrowed from Hitotsubashi for the flying sessions
However, gifts to falconers and assistants shall be given from private funds
1. Lanterns in the lower corridor shall be discontinued; for official business, movement shall be done carrying hand candles
1. Medical fees for physicians shall be handled according to established protocol
1. Regarding various gifts to retainers, due to exceptional economy measures this time, there may be further reforms. Since this will serve as guidance for each individual, this shall be communicated to each respectively
