Genba-no-jō was called one of the four great generals of Yamato. In the 12th year of Eiroku, year of the Earth Snake (1569), when Tomonori and
Lord Nobunaga fought a battle, Genba-no-jō was entrusted with Mine Castle. When Takigawa Sakon-shōgen Ichi-
masu advanced as general from Ozaki, Genba-no-jō caught him with his loquat-leaf spear and
threw nine enemy soldiers into the valleys on both sides. Due to this, Sakon-shōgen's vanguard was defeated.
(The hanging scroll with the two characters "Battle Diagram" given by Tomonori at this time and the loquat-leaf spear are still possessed today) Later, during Lord Hideyoshi's era, Yamato Province was
appointed to the domain of his younger brother, Dainagon Hidenaga, so the castle was confiscated.
Genba-no-jō retreated to Osaka in Settsu Province, shaved his head, and took the name Jisai. His son Ise Takasumi
stayed together with his father. (Even now in Koma village, Yamato Province, many retainer families remain, keeping in contact and revering him as their former castle lord)
During his rōnin period, he was repeatedly invited by Yamato Dainagon Hidenaga and also
invited by Fukushima Saemon-dayū Masanori, but having his own thoughts, he did not go. However,
when Chōshōin-sama heard about Jisai and requested that his two daughters be
sent to serve, he sent them up. (Later, one was sent to Nagami Shima Yoshitsugu's place, and one was sent to a man called Ichikawa Koemon) Due to this kind
favor, both Jisai and his wife came to Echizen and died in this province. Because of this, Taka-
sumi was summoned as a page when Lord Tadamasa was seven years old, and during the Kazusa Province Anesaki
estate period, he accompanied the lord to the Osaka campaigns and took two heads. When Lord Tadamasa went from Echigo
