　　　　押而若明日御先登アラハ家老共迷惑ニ可被　仰付之旨
　　　　上意有之其節豊後守モ　御前ニ罷有右之段承候テ

　　● 岡部豊後守　諱は不明（本国は三河　生国は不明　姓は藤原）
　　　　秀康公御代に相勤め、その後忠昌公に附けられ、大坂の陣に御供仕った。
　　　　慶長二十年卯五月七日討死仕った。前日六日に権現様の御前で、
　　　　明日の御先手を忠昌公が御願いになった時、その件について御許可がなく、
　　　　それどころか、もし明日御先登があれば家老共を迷惑に思し召すとの
　　　　上意があった。その節、豊後守も御前に控えており、右の件を承って、
　　　　「上意の通りであれば事は済んだ儀であるから、最早御退出なされるように」
　　　　と申し上げ、御供して御陣所へ帰った。翌七日、忠昌公の御先登があり、
　　　　前日の上意の趣旨があったため、豊後守は討死したと申し伝えられている。その節、豊
　　　　後の討死の件が上聞に達すると、「そのようなことがあるであろう」との上意が
　　　　あったとこれも申し伝えられている。岡部称号の事について、台徳院様にお仕えした
　　　　老女中で岡部と申す者が豊後守の母であった。これにより岡部を家名とする。

　　● Okabe Bungo-no-kami, personal name unknown (home province: Mikawa, birth province unknown, family name: Fujiwara)
　　　　He served during Lord Hideyasu's reign, and later was assigned to Lord Tadamasa, accompanying him to the Siege of Osaka.
　　　　He died in battle on the 7th day of the 5th month of Keichō 20 (1615). On the previous day, the 6th, in the presence of Gongen-sama,
　　　　when Lord Tadamasa requested to lead the vanguard the next day, permission was not granted, and furthermore,
　　　　the shogun expressed that if there were to be an advance attack the next day, it would cause trouble for the senior retainers.
　　　　At that time, Bungo-no-kami was also present and, upon hearing this,
　　　　said "If that is the shogun's will, then the matter is settled, so you should now withdraw,"
　　　　and accompanied his lord back to the camp. On the following 7th day, Lord Tadamasa made his advance attack, and
　　　　due to the previous day's imperial instruction, Bungo-no-kami died in battle, as is told. At that time, when
　　　　news of Bungo's death in battle reached the shogun's ears, it is also told that he said "Such a thing would happen."
　　　　Regarding the Okabe surname, there was an elderly lady-in-waiting called Okabe who served Taitokuin-sama,
　　　　and she was Bungo-no-kami's mother. Because of this, Okabe became the family name.
