　　　　先祖は往古、本来武田という名であったが、北条家に仕えていた際、甲州武田信玄と北条家が敵対関係になったため、称号並びに幕の紋を共に改めた。
　　　　大藤式部大輔と申したが、名乗りは分からない。道号を金谷と申した。その前代々相州小田原に居住していたという。古河の公方家より下された御書により道哲とある書状二通を今なお伝え持っている。また結城政勝公へ北条家より加勢として松田・大道寺等と一緒に一万余の軍勢を率いて赴いた際、政勝公より下された御感状、その外武田信玄・北条家代々・今川家等の感状等、総て古状・古判物等二十通ばかりを今なお伝え持っている。北条家滅亡の後、浪人として過ごしていたところ、結城において秀康公へ格別のご約束をもって召し出され、その後越前において高千石を下し置かれ、約束のご知行は重ねて下されるべきとのご文言が

　Summoned at Yūki during Lord Hideyasu's reign
　　● Ōtō Kotarō, personal name unknown (home province and birth province both Sagami, surname Minamoto)
　　　　The ancestor was originally named Takeda in ancient times, but when serving the Hōjō family, since Kōshū Takeda Shingen and the Hōjō family were in conflict, both the title and curtain crest were changed.
　　　　He was called Ōtō Shikibu Daiyū, but his formal name is not known. His Buddhist name was Kinya. Previously for generations they resided in Odawara in Sagami Province. By virtue of documents granted by the Koga Kubō family, two letters bearing the name Dōtetsu are preserved to this day. Also, when he went to Lord Yūki Masakatsu as reinforcement from the Hōjō family together with Matsuda, Daidōji and others, leading over ten thousand troops, he received commendation letters from Lord Masakatsu, as well as commendation letters from Takeda Shingen, generations of the Hōjō family, the Imagawa family, and others - in total about twenty old letters and old documents are preserved to this day. After the fall of the Hōjō family, while living as a masterless samurai, he was summoned to Lord Hideyasu at Yūki with exceptional promises, and afterward was granted a high stipend of one thousand koku in Echizen, with the verbal promise that the promised fief would be granted again...
