一 当村石切之儀村中不残取調書上仕候処此外壱人
茂無御座共尤石切稼ニ罷出旅先ニ而石切弟子召抱
不申候猶又商売先実躰ニ相廻り可申候様具ニ申
聞候処一々承知仕奉得其意候若此上ニも不吟味
成儀有之候而後日ニ被成御聞及候ハヽ其元より
早速御注進可被成候其上如何様之御咎
筋被 仰付候共少茂御恨無御座候為後
日連印一札仍而如件

差し出し申す一札の事
一、当村の石切の件について、村中残らず取り調べて書き上げいたしましたところ、この他に一人もございません。もっとも石切稼業のために出かけた旅先において石切の弟子を召し抱えることはいたしません。なお商売先の実情をよく回って確認するよう詳しく申し聞かせましたところ、一つ一つ承知いたしその旨得心いたしました。もしこの上にも不注意な事があって、後日お聞き及びになりましたら、その元（平蔵様）より早速ご注進くださいませ。その上でどのようなお咎めをお申し付けになっても、少しもお恨みはございません。後日のため連印の一札、よって件のごとし。

A pledge document submitted
Item: Regarding the stone cutters of our village, we have investigated all throughout the village without exception and submitted this report. There is no one else besides these. Moreover, when going out to work as stone cutters, they shall not take on stone cutting apprentices at their travel destinations. Furthermore, we have instructed them in detail to thoroughly investigate the actual conditions of their business locations, and they have understood and accepted each point. If there should be any negligent matters beyond this that come to your attention later, please promptly report from your end (Heizo-sama). Even if any form of punishment should be imposed thereafter, we harbor no resentment whatsoever. For future reference, a jointly signed pledge document, thus as stated.
